Posted: 19th December 2009 by Zeke Fuhrman in MLB
After making major moves this offseason by acquiring 3B Chone Figgins and P Cliff Lee, the Seattle Mariners made another move that will hopefully pay off in the long run.
They allowed the Chicago Cubs to dump controversial outfielder Milton Bradley on them.
Bradley, an All-Star in 2008, was traded to the Mariners for P Carlos Silva and cash.
Yes, he will be more productive than Silva (5-18, 6.81 ERAáduring two seasons with ...
Twins’ New Look Emphasizes New Era in Minnesota Baseball
Posted: 10th December 2009 by Zeke Fuhrman in MLB
Not much has changed for the Minnesota Twins over the past two decades.
They have played in the same stadium, have been owned by the same family, have had the same uniforms, and have had only two different managers.
But that is all about to change.
History shows that when change happens in Minnesota sports, it requires a new look.
The Minnesota Wild have sported an alternate look this season. After beginning the first ...
When Minnesota Vikings linebacker EJ Henderson was lost for the season due to injury in 2008, the Vikings re-acquired Napoleon Harris, who was sent to the Vikings by the Oakland Raiders with a first-round pick for WR Randy Moss in 2005.
This season, after Henderson suffered a season-ending injury in the Sunday Night game against the Arizona Cardinals, the Vikings have named rookie Jasper Brinkley the starting middle linebacker.
Brinkley, a fifth ...

Usually, when you are 10-2, you don't get asked that question.
It was one year ago today that the Arizona Cardinals clinched their firstáNFC West title, and the first time they had seen the playoffs since 1998.
At the time, I wrote an article called "How Good ARE The Arizona Cardinals?". In my article, I stated that they came from a weak division, had to rely too much on the pass, had ...
Since the dawn of time, people have preached that size matters (minus one green alien on the planet Dagobah...)
That, however, is not the case.
While researching to find who has the biggest NFL franchise, I learned that just because you are big doesn't always mean that you are good.
Weight in the NFL has many advantages: Power, size, McDonalds endorsements, and the uncanny ability to instantly become an immovable object.
However, this Top ...
Denard Span in Centerfield: The Way It Was Meant To Be for Twins
Posted: 12th November 2009 by Zeke Fuhrman in MLB
When the Minnesota Twins drafted Torii Hunter in the 1993 MLB Draft, there was no question that he would become Kirby Puckett's replacement in center field for the Twins.
Hunter was selected with the 20th overall pick out of Pine Bluff (AR) High School.
When Puckett retired in 1995, the Twins filled center field with Rich Becker and Otis Nixon until Hunter played his first full year in 1999.
Hunter was a staple ...
Seventy-five yards is all that ex-Kansas City Chief Larry Johnson needed to become the franchise's all-time leading rusher.
Not that it would have mattered anyways.
Amidst the controversy of criticizing his coachÆs experience and his gay slurs, the Chiefs released the one-time Fantasy Football behemoth on Monday, the day he was to return from a two-week suspension for his controversial actions.
This wouldn't be the first time Johnson has been suspended or criticized ...

The Kid isn't done yet.
After signing with the Seattle Mariners, the team he spent his first 11 seasona with, during the 2008 off season, many baseball fans thought that it would be their last chance to see Ken Griffey, Jr. on the ball field.
But on November 11th, Griffey astonished fans again (as he has done his entire pro career) by signing another one-year contract with the Mariners.
Griffey, who won 10 ...
