Posted: 21st April 2010 by Wendy Adair in MLB
It seems as though Carlos Beltran could have played his last baseball game, at least in the near future.
Beltran played in 81 games in 2009 because of knee bruises and the time off and rehab from surgery has not healed the bruises.
For this reason, he is not ready to resume baseball activities at this time, no timetable has been set on when its possible to return to the Mets.
To his ...
The Mets already know that they will be without Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes for Opening Day 2010, and that means that once again, David Wright will be last man standing as far as core position players.
Yes, Jason Bay hitting behind him should give him some protection, but is that enough reason for pitchers to not go after hitting Wright or at least backing him off the plate?
Last August, when ...

Posted: 4th January 2010 by Wendy Adair in MLB
The Mets have been called many things: heartless, chokers, stat obsessed, show-off hot dogs, and the list goes on. What remains to be seen, though, is how different this team will be in 2010.

Making the Case for a Francoeur-Wright Co-Captain Situation for the Mets

The Mets are a changing team, maybe not with Free Agent signings this winter, but definitely with dynamics.
Jeff Francoeur is undoubtedly a gamer and will fight for his convictions. Whoever it is that stands in his way had better yield, and the Mets will benefit from his fiery mentality.
I admit I was not a fan of Francoeur when he was a Brave and was very upset when Ryan Church was ...

Will Gary Sheffield Be Back with the New York Mets in 2010?

Last week in Indianapolis, an offer was made hours before the end of the week long session to Jason Bay.
He has not yet accepted Omar Minaya's offer and its becoming more likely that he will not be on the Mets in 2010.
In 2009, the Mets sent nine men to play in left field, but Gary Sheffield was by far the most reliable for much of the season. Daniel Murphy was ...

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer , Brian Schneider has signed a two-year contract with the Phillies for $3 Million.
Afteráinjuries plagued Schneider forá2008 and 2009, the Mets did not stand in the way of him filing for Free Agency.
