Al Davis was born on July 4, 1929. In 1963, he was assigned the head coaching and general manager job of the Oakland Raiders. He became the commissioner of the American Football League three years later, only to return the Oakland after the merge of the AFL and NFL.

After a long period of rumors, the Philadelphia Eagles have traded Donovan McNabb away to the Washington Redskins.
Of all teams, the Redskins were the ones that no one expected to make the move. It was rumored that the Raiders or Bills would break the ice and trade for McNabb. Those rumors were obviously just, well, rumors.
The deal is reportedly for the 37th overall pick in the draft, just two picks ...
The Oakland Raiders have many needs, that's the obvious. Some of those needs are left tackle, right guard, and center.
Some of the recent mock drafts that websites put out say that the Raiders' need for a defensive end is big enough that they're willing to use the eight overall pick to draft one.
I'm trying not to get mad, but it's hard not to.
