2010 NBA Playoffs: Did Kevin Garnett’s Elbow Help or Hurt the Boston Celtics?
Posted: 19th April 2010 by Tom Smith in NBA
The Boston Celtics defeated the Miami Heat 85-76 on Saturday night in game one of their first round playoff series. It certainly wasn't vintage Celtics—they trailed by 14 points with about seven minutes to play in the third period—but you don't get extra credit for style points. The Celtics were able to summon up enough defensive intensity to essentially shut down Dwayne Wade (thank you, Tony Allen) and ...
Sorry Phil Jackson, Stan Van Gundy, Mike Brown, and Rick Carlisle—your teams are exactly where I thought they'd be.
This is a nod to the NBA head coaches whose teams have exceeded the most important of expectations—mine.
These guys have maxed out their rosters or they have overcome significant obstacles, either way, each deserves a place on this expanded Coach of the Year list.

Are the Boston Celtics the Worst 50-Win Team in the NBA?

What he did not receive was jail time, despite the prosecutors in the case requesting a three-month sentence. This is bad news if you're ...

He had a great collegiate career at a non-powerhouse school in Ohio, was the 11th overall pick in the 2004 draft, and is already a two-time Super Bowl winner. And he accomplished these feats with zero flash (that can be a good thing).
"Big Ben" could be a hero to "middle America." But there is also a troubling side to Ben: He ...
Who knows what goes through the heads of kids today with regard to athletes as heroes. Do they even bother looking up to athletes?
Allen Iverson doesn't hold any sway over the kids of today, though. He made his fan base in the pre-TMZ era (Oh, do I miss those days!). There are a lot of young adults out there who grew up idolizing Allen Iverson.
There was a lot to like.
Despite ...
