Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Go Rah-Rah With Raheem Morris
Posted: 5th January 2010 by Tom Edrington in NFL
Surely you didn't expect they'd fire him.
Come on, Bucs followers.
Raheem Morris played with the lousy hand he was dealt ináthe season that was the 2009 Bucs.
THE WORLD said those Bucs would stink, and they didn't fail to disappoint.
Three wins was about the consensus. Three and 13.
You wanted Gruden gone, you wanted the house cleaned out, and it was, thoroughly.
Did you expect the Glazers to do it again?
Did you expect ...
Falcons-Buccaneers: Tampa Bay Fails To Launch in Season Finale
Posted: 3rd January 2010 by Tom Edrington in NFL
Surely it was a bit much to ask.
With good tidings and cheer, could it all come to a robust end for the Buccaneers? Could they possibly finish with three straight wins?
The Atlanta Falcons said "NO" with an exclamation point.
There was little firepower from the Buccaneers in chilly Raymond James Stadium on Sunday. Almost none came in the first 30 minutes that sent them stumbling to a 20-10 season-ending loss to ...
Buccaneer Win Was Homecoming Joy for a Tampa Hero
Posted: 30th December 2009 by Tom Edrington in NFL
It was the treat of the year to see the underdog Tampa Bay Buccaneers take down the high and mighty New Orleans Saints last Sunday.
It was an even bigger treat to see the face of one of our nation's finest react to his team's great victory.
Meet Major Earl Bedford, 172nd Infantry (Task Force 1-2), veteran of four tours in the fields of Iraq.
It was a joy to finally have him ...
It was a pure French Quarter fantasy.
It was a miracle of Mardi Gras proportions.
In a matchup of the meek against the mighty it was the meek who inherited the Super Dome in New Orleans on Sunday.
It was the meek of the NFL, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who stunned the mighty, the New Orleans Saints in one amazing overtime stunner.
It was a 20-17 stunner courtesy of a meek, previously unemployed kicker ...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Deliver Early Christmas Gift
Posted: 21st December 2009 by Tom Edrington in NFL
Merry Christmas, Tampa Bay Buccaneer faithful.
Merry 24-7 Christmas.
Just when you thought the Grinch would steal your Tampa Christmas, the Seattle Seahawks played Santa with a three-hour production of Clueless In Seattle on Sunday.
Those clueless Seahawks got splattered by your Buccaneers, who won their first road game of the Raheem Morris era. Those now 2-12 Buccaneers did it the old fashioned way with the defense gift-wrapping five turnovers to place under ...
The great news is that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers amassed 469 yards of total offense Sunday afternoon in Carolina.
The dreadful news is that the now 1-11 Buccaneers could not score a touchdown against the 5-7 Panthers.
This was a game we thought the Bucs just might have had a chance to win, what with backup quarterback Matt Moore starting for Carolina and DeAngelo Williams, Buc Killer Extraordinare, on the sidelines.
Carolina scored ...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Suffer Heartbreak in Atlanta
Posted: 29th November 2009 by Tom Edrington in NFL
For 59 minutes and 37 seconds, Raheem Morris coordinated and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers put forth one great defensive effort in Atlanta.
It was that 23 second mark that sent it all down the drain.
With just 23 seconds to play Sunday in the Falcon-Dome, backup quarterback Chris Redman fired one laser of a pass to Roddy White and the Buccaneers had their hearts broken.
Heartbreaking was the 20-17 final tally that spelled ...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Condition Now Official: F.U.B.A.R.!
Posted: 24th November 2009 by Tom Edrington in NFL
It is finally so very evident that One Buccaneer Place is a disaster.
Perhaps it fitting to put this one in military jargon.
Here are the three stages of confusion:
SNAFU: Situation Normal All F@#&*#d Up.
TARFU: Things Are Really F@#&*#d Up.
FUBAR: F#@*$d Up Beyond All Repair.
The DEFCON (Defense Condition) at One Buc Place is now officially FUBAR.
You can blame it all on Raheem Morris and Mark Dominic, coach and GM.
The OTAs and training ...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Chaos, Jim Bates Demoted By Raheem Morris

Confusion on the defense has reigned supreme for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season and coach Raheem Morris finally threw in the towel on defensive coordinator Jim Bates.
Bates has been demoted by Morris according to reports in The St. Petersburg Times. Bates was informed of the decision by Morris Monday night.
Morris will retool the defense and return to the Tampa Two as the base defense.
The decision is indicative that Morris ...
Bucccaneers Squashed By Saints and It Wasn’t Pretty

Told you so.
All you dreamersùgo to your rooms. Go there now and stay there until you're told to come out!
Sunday, you saw what 10-and-zero looks like.
And you saw what one-and-nine looks like.
You saw a 38-7 undressing of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by the New Orleans Saints. You saw the Saints flat out de-pants the Bucs in front of the home crowd.
You saw more exposure of the horrible Jim Bates ...
