Sergei Gonchar Out Four to Six Weeks with Broken Wrist

According to reports out of Pittsburgh, the Penguins will be without All-Star defenseman Sergei Gonchar for as long as six weeks because of a broken wrist.
Gonchar reportedly broke the wrist in a collision in Tuesday night's game against St. Louis.
At 35-years old, Gonchar was still leading the defending Stanley Cup Champions in ice time and had scored eight points already this season.

Boston Bruins Lose Marc Savard for Four to Six Weeks with Broken Foot

According to reports on various media outlets, including ESPN, on Wednesday morning, the Boston Bruins will be without center Marc Savard for as long as six weeks with a broken foot.
Savard has led Boston in scoring each of the past three seasons, and is currently leading the team with seven points.

On Tuesday, The Sporting News named Gordon Beckham of the Chicago White Sox its American League Rookie of the Year.
Beckham made the transition from shortstopùwhere he played for the University of Georgiaùto third base after Josh Fields failed to take the reigns early in the season.
After being called up for good on June 4, Beckham batted .270 with 28 doubles, 14 home runs, and 63 RBIs.
