Fire in Van Costs Minnesota Wild Most of Team’s Equipment

According to a number of media outlets on Friday afternoon, an equipment van owned by the Minnesota Wild was in an accident in which it caught on fire. Most of the Wild's equipment was destroyed in the fire.
According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, all of Minnesota goalie Niklas Backstrom's equipment was destroyed.
The Wild are scheduled to play in Ottawa on Saturday night. The team has apparently already spoken with the league ...

Various media outlets, including Larry Stone of the Seattle Times and Carrie Muskat of MLB.com, are reporting the Chicago Cubs have realized one of their worst case scenarios.
