I won't pretend I have no biases.
I'm a Ryan Carter fan.
The guy was extremely underrated and in typical Randy Carlyle fashion, underused and unappreciated.
I'm not going to pretend that he was the guy to make or break a team, and by no means would he score 30, 20, even 10 goals in a season, but he was more than that.
Starting off the 2009-2010 season, he was by ...
Now that we're all set up for the final matchups of the season, it's time we start looking a little further ahead. Time to get ready for that crucial point in every season where teams begin to think about their future, the long haul. Trades, free agency, and the draft all mark the hopeful beginning for so many teams.
But for the Anaheim Ducks, it's a different story.
Before fans ...
As we step closer to the most exciting two months of hockey, it’s time we look at the Power Rankings.
This time we’re not talking about the individual players or even the teams as a whole.
No, this time we’re giving the men behind the bench a nod for their hard work throughout the season, and of course, the treacherous road ahead.
The following is the ...
With a 5-4 shootout loss to the crosstown rival Los Angeles Kings, the Anaheim Ducks are officially plucked from the postseason.
(Colorado’s defeat of the Vancouver Canucks in overtime put the nail in the coffin.)
Plain and simple, a team that gives up a three-goal lead and proceeds to lose in a shootout has no chance in the postseason.
Tuesday's loss to the Kings was the epitome of the Ducks’ season: bursts of ...
Lately the Finnish players on the Anaheim Ducks have been getting a lot of notoriety. Namely, Teemu Selanne.
Selanne, who recently scored his 600th career goal, has since surpassed his personal idol Jari Kurri and scored goals #601, 602, and 603. Selanne now sits solely in the 17th position of all time goals scored, and is now eighth on the all time list of power play goals scored. ...
When you've got players on your team like Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Bobby Ryan, Teemu Selanne...
Okay, this could go on for a while.
The point is, those guys are going to be discussed a lot because of who they are and what they bring to their team.
These guys are often criticized because they should be. The teams they play for, and the fans who cheer for them, expect them to live ...
Anaheim has faltered tragically on their current road trip. The only problem is...they have no room for failure.
As hard as it is to see the Ducks lose.
It's even harder seeing them miss the post season all together. While they aren't technically out of it yet, elimination is definitely on its way.
I still think this missed opportunity is a positive for various reasons. However it is still hard to accept that hockey is ending two months earlier than ...
Teemu Selanne of Anaheim Ducks Scores Game-Winning Goal and No. 600 of Career

I'm sure in the back of his mind, Teemu Selanne has been secretly counting down to 600 career NHL goals for a long time now.
From the reaction at the Honda Center, it is safe to assume the fans have been counting down as well.
I've been sitting on the edge of my seat, high up in the nosebleeds, watching pass after pass from overly supportive teammates miss the intended receiver. I've watched as Selanne has been ...
Ducks’ James Wisniewski Suspended Eight Games for Hit on Brent Seabrook
Posted: 18th March 2010 by SK in NHL
The official league verdict is eight games for James Wisniewski.
Wisniewski was given the suspension after a questionable hit on Chicago Blackhawks defensemen Brent Seabrook.
Seabrook, who appeared to be slightly unconscious after the hit, reported to his team’s bench before officially leaving the game with an upper body injury.
The hit was in retaliation for a hit moments earlier that Seabrook lay upon forward Corey Perry along the boards. While Seabrook went ...
Ducks-Blackhawks: James Wisniewski May Be Suspended As Anaheim Wins Another

The Ducks are flying high right now (pardon the ridiculous pun).
After beating the top two teams in the West in consecutive games, the Ducks are surging forward on their most important mission.
Win games, make the playoffs.
Starting from the net out, Jonas Hiller was absolutely fantastic in the net, stopping 38 shots. Making improbable saves and huge stops on breakaways from the opposition, this is the goaltender that signed an extension ...
