Would Seahawks Have Been Smarter to Match Steve Hutchinson Poison Pill Offer?
Posted: 9th March 2010 by Seattle Sports in NFL
Here we are, four full seasons after the Seattle Seahawks got robbed of the best guard in football. Most could attribute this as the starting point to the Seahawks' tailspin into what has now become a 9-23 record over the last two seasons.
Here we are, four full seasons later, and Hutchinson is still, by most accounts, regarded as the top guard in the game today.
This post is not meant to ...
Ryan Lilja Cut By Indianapolis Colts, Probable Target for Seattle Seahawks
Posted: 8th March 2010 by Seattle Sports in NFL
In a somewhat surprising move for a Super Bowl team, the Indianapolis Colts parted ways with starting guard Ryan Lilja today.
Lilja has been a fixture on the team with the best regular season record over the last seven years, culminating in two Super Bowl appearances and a victory in 2007.
Lilja had 67 career starts for Indianapolis and also bounced back nicely from missing the entire 2008 season with a ...
Breaking News: Seattle Seahawks Trade Seneca Wallace to the Cleveland Browns
Posted: 8th March 2010 by Seattle Sports in NFL
ESPN's Adam Schefter has reported that the rumor has become reality: The Seattle Seahawks have dealt backup quarterback Seneca Wallace to the Cleveland Browns for an undisclosed draft pick.
With 11 draft picks, this acquisition certainly wasn't costly for Browns President Mike Holmgren as a potential short-term answer at quarterback. Wallace is someone who is familiar with Holmgren's West Coast offense—which, to some degree, will surely be employed.
This trade surely ...
Does Denver’s Throwing Up Brandon Marshall To Bengals Signal Desperation?
Posted: 7th March 2010 by Seattle Sports in NFL
This is good news for the Seattle Seahawks.
The Denver Broncos have come out and said that the Cincinnati Bengals are interested in obtaining the dynamic wide receiver.
This very well may be true, they recently cut Laverneaus Coles and behind Chad Ochocinco they don't have a ton of depth.
At the same time though, nothing has been confirmed by the Bengals brass, they don't have the ties to Marshall that Seattle does ...
Could Jerome Harrison for Seneca Wallace Swap Go Down Between Seahawks, Browns?
Posted: 7th March 2010 by Seattle Sports in NFL
When the National Football Post came out with a report that the Cleveland Browns may be interested in Seattle Seahawks QB Seneca Wallace, it generated a fair amount of intrigue (obviously) among bloggers and media sources alike.
The match appears to be there. The Browns are under the management of ex-Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren, who groomed Wallace into a serviceable quarterback.
The Browns are going to address the QB position one ...
Ex-Florida Star Tim Tebow Has Private Workout Scheduled with Seattle Seahawks
Posted: 7th March 2010 by Seattle Sports in NFL
This is sure to spark some interest amongst Seattle Seahawks fans.
According to Gil Brandt of NFL.com, the Seattle Seahawks have an individual workout scheduled with college football legend St. Timmy Tebow.
This is in no way indicating they are going to draft him, but teams are limited in the amount of individual sessions they are allowed with potential draft prospects. This shows they have more then just a fleeting interest in ...
Seattle Seahawks Lose Out on Aaron Kampman, Should Set Sights on OJ Atogwe
Posted: 7th March 2010 by Seattle Sports in NFL
I was extremely disappointed to learn this morning that the Jacksonville Jaguars had locked up former Packers DE Aaron Kampman with a three year contract for around the same annual salary that Kyle Vanden Bosch received from the Detroit Lions.
You can view the ESPN report here .
Seattle, along with Philadelphia, were very interested in obtaining him, and echoing what ESPN AFC South blogger Paul Kuharsky says; it will indeed be ...
