The Raiders have had an awesome offseason and are now very much a different team than they were last year.
With that said, Raider fans are very excited looking into the upcoming season.
Here are my 10 predictions for the Raiders in 2010.
Last year I made similar predictions and was correct on five out of 10.Begin Slideshow
Bringing the Heat: A Look At The Oakland Raiders Competition At D-End
Posted: 18th June 2010 by Ramone Brown in NFL
If there is a position where the Raiders are stacked at with talent, it is defensive end, and for good reason. The Raiders rarely blitz and often rely on their front four to create pressure and make plays.
Last year the Raiders ranked 13th in sacks with 37: 26 of those sacks came from defensive linemen, seven came from linebackers and four came from the defensive backfield.
The Raiders will likely ...
What Will the Raiders Defensive Tackle Position Look Like in 2010
Posted: 12th June 2010 by Ramone Brown in NFL
For years the Raiders defensive tackle position has looked bleak.
Tommy Kelly has atleast looked good on paper, but has also received criticism from fans. But regardless of whether you like him or not he is the best we have and shouldn't be asked to do it all by himself.
Now the Raiders defense will look a little more promising with the addition of John Henderson, but how much better?
One of the ...
Oakland Raiders: Three Concerns Still Plaguing the Team
Posted: 28th April 2010 by Ramone Brown in NFL
During draft weekend the Raiders were undoubtedly able to improve their team on both sides of the ball.
They drafted two offensive tackles, a defensive linemen, a linebacker and were able to add a veteran QB to the roster. All obvious needs.
But unfortunately they weren't able to address all of their problems and still have a few glaring weaknesses.
Here is a look at some positions the Raiders should still be concerned ...
Tom Cable’s Day Two Press Conference Raises New Questions for Oakland Raiders
Posted: 24th April 2010 by Ramone Brown in NFL
The Raiders' 2010 draft seemed almost perfect. We got a new leader for our defense in Rolando McClain on day one. And then on day two we addressed both lines of scrimmage, just like Tom Cable suggested we would in his press conference the night before.
In the second round we filled our biggest need on defense drafting a big 300 pound defensive tackle. Actually, wait, that's not right. According to Tom Cable ...
In the NFL draft the Oakland Raiders seem to be one of the most unpredictable teams.
But given the teams drafting history it is known that they have a nack for drafting players who they invite to private workouts or show interest in prior to the draft.
Last year Darius Hayward-Bey, Michael Mitchell and Louis Murphy were all invited to private workouts at the Raider facility and they were all drafted.
So far ...
Donovan McNabb Doesn’t Want to Play for the Raiders, So What?
Posted: 2nd April 2010 by Ramone Brown in NFL
If you think for a minute Donovan McNabb doesn't cringe at the thought of playing in Oakland, or would even consider extending his contract for us, then you are kidding yourself.
Donovan McNabb does not want to play in Oakland. He wants to play for a contender.
McNabb doesn't want to play behind a porous offensive line with an undersized center and young receivers with suspect hands.
But apparently most fans don't care, ...
Oakland Raider Fans Are Victims of False Rumor Mongerers
Posted: 29th March 2010 by Ramone Brown in NFL
Heading into this season, we can be sure of at least one thing:
JaMarcus Russell is in the shape of his life and has been training in Phoenix, AZ, every day up until OTAs started. He's totally different from last year and lost quite a bit of weight. He is having special meals brought in and has a former Raider monitoring his progress.
Or at least according to Willie Brown.
Oh wait sorry... according to ...
Yamon Figurs: What Can He Bring to the Oakland Raiders?
Posted: 28th March 2010 by Ramone Brown in NFL
This year, the Raiders have had a seemingly quiet offseason: No big name signings, only one trade, and a bunch of tabloid-like rumors regarding our QBs waistline.
One thing that seemed to go unnoticed by many was the free-agent signing of Yamon Figurs.
Figurs is a typical Al Davis pickup; yep, you guessed it, this guy is a speedster.
In 2007, the 5'11'', 185 lb. receiver and return specialist was the fastest man ...
Oakland Raiders: Don’t Underestimate Draft Prospects Visiting Oakland
Posted: 26th March 2010 by Ramone Brown in NFL
Now that the Senior Bowl, Combine, and pro-days are behind us, it's time for an event that is just as, if not more, important than any of the other events—something that is often overlooked and receives little attention.
It's time for potential draft prospects to visit teams for private workouts.
Every year, teams are allowed to have 30 prospects visit their team facility for private workouts and interviews.
The reason these workouts are ...
