Only moments after pulling out of an "imminent" deal with New York for lefty ace Cliff Lee, Seattle has reportedly agreed to send Lee along with reliever Mark Lowe to Texas in exchange for first baseman Justin Smoak and three other prospects.
We'll have to wait and see who the three other prospects are, but this is still a strange move for the Rangers regardless.
With severe financial troubles, the Rangers will ...

Posted: 9th July 2010 by Nathaniel Ballance in MLB
A rumored deal that would send Mariner's star lefty Cliff Lee to the Yankees for top prospect Jesus Montero, along with infielder David Adams and pitcher Zach McAlister, is apparently off.
The Mariners have allegedly balked due to concerns over David Adams bad ankle, which he injured breaking up a double play while at Double-A Trenton about a month ago.

Their Mistake: Faulty MLB All-Star Rosters Results From Players’ Poor Choices

The main five-man broadcast team that ESPN decided to employ for the 2010 draft consisted of Jon Gruden, Steve Young, ...

They've played seven games and scored 50 runs, an average of over seven runs a game. Extrapolated out over the course of the season it puts these Phillies at 1,157 runs, far and away a Major League ...
Re-Structuring the MLB Playoffs: Making a Good Postseason Even Better

There's been some chatter recently about realigning the teams of Major League Baseball.á Perhaps it's because the collective bargaining agreement is about up for re-negotiating or maybe it's simply due to the fact that there isn't a whole lot of substance to write about the first week of Spring Training.
Nevertheless, it's an interesting topic to debate, but I find myself on the side that believes baseball's six-division structure works well ...
