With the addition of the 29-year-old speedy outfielder, Fred Lewis, coming by way of trade from San Francisco, the Blue Jays have found their 25th man. Man number 26 is Mike McCoy.
After breaking camp with the Jays, McCoy was told by general manager Alex Anthopolous that if someone came up on the waiver wire that the Jays wanted they would pounce and send McCoy down to AAA Las Vegas.
That day ...
The Bullpen and the Season: The 2010 Toronto Blue Jays Season Preview Part 3
Posted: 8th April 2010 by Mitchell Davidson in MLB
After seven innings of excellent pitching from Shaun Marcum, the 2010 Blue Jays turned to one of their strong points of seasons past: the bullpen.
However, the 2010 bullpen is not the bullpen of years past. It is decently strong, but it also is a mix of new and old faces, with players like Valdez in and Accardo and Janssen returning.
The seemingly biggest issue for the bullpen right now seems to ...
Pinching and Pitching: The 2010 Blue Jays Season Preview, Part 2
Posted: 5th April 2010 by Mitchell Davidson in MLB
Although the 2010 Jays offense has already been discussed there is much more to an offense than just those who start the game. In fact, who is on the bench or in the system can be just as important as who makes opening day.
This year the Toronto bench has taken a new approach cleansing and avoiding the talent past its prime, such as Frank Thomas or Kevin Millar, and opted ...
The Starting 9: 2010 Blue Jays Season Preview Part 1

How will the 2010 Toronto Blue Jays stack up this season? Will they put on a dismal performance and slump into last place in the division or surprise a few people, including perhaps the Yankees and Red Sox?

The fact of the matter is John McDonald does not deserve any more credit, he does not deserve an American League job and he is barely worthy of a National League backup role. Just barely...
The article proposed that backups are a role in the MLB that someone has ...
Thoughts with a Friend: A Lack of Placing for Toronto’s Rickard Wallin
Posted: 9th March 2010 by Mitchell Davidson in NHL
While watching the Toronto Maple Leafs game against Boston, my roommate, David West , and I started talking about Rickard Wallin, the player who does not have a role on the Toronto Maple Leafs...at least not anymore.
Rickard Wallin has put up 6 points, only one of them being a goal, in 44 games, which is not enough. Admittedly, Wallin is now a defensive forward, but last season in the Swedish Elite League, ...
Every winning baseball team has a player or two that goes relatively unnoticed, their contributions undervalued by the bigger names on the team. Sometimes they are bunt specialists, defensive wizards, or pinch hitting specialists.
But, to the true baseball eye there are many underrated players in the MLB today putting up quite remarkable numbers in equally remarkable ways. Sadly, most times an underrated player's true value isn't realized until they're ...
MLB’s 2010 Surprise: Why the Washington Nationals Will Vie for the NL Wild Card
Posted: 1st March 2010 by Mitchell Davidson in MLB
Entering the 2010 season one can rest assured that there will be a dark horse team that pushes for a wild card spot till seemingly the last day. In the past few seasons it's been the Florida Marlins and of course the Tampa Bay Rays with their miracle run in 2008, so who is it this year?
Now, don't get me wrong; I'm not suggesting the following team will be in ...
