John Tavares: 50MC’s 2009-2010 Fearless Fantasy Forecast
Posted: 30th September 2009 by Miikeee D. in NHL
I will use the finale of this yearÆs version of Fearless Fantasy Forecast on the 2009 No. 1 overall pick in the NHL draft and arguably the most anticipated prospect in the NHL since Sidney Crosby.
In four seasons in the OHL, he accumulated 433 points, including 215 goalsùmore than Wayne Gretzky. He has led Team Canada to two World Junior Championship gold medals.
Of course, I am talking about John Tavares.
Tavares ...

50MC’s 2009-2010 Fearless Fantasy Forecast: Nikita Filatov
Posted: 28th September 2009 by Miikeee D. in NHL
With Fredrik Modin out for the next four to six weeks due to an MCL strain, Nikita Filatov is surely to make the Columbus Blue Jackets, right?
Anything is possible with Ken Hitchcock at the helm. As well as Filatov has played this training camp, Hitchcock has a tendency to slowly bring up young players. He does not give his rookies much playing time or give them much responsibility.
However, with the ...
Rob Schremp Finally Cut by the Edmonton Oilers, Jordan Eberle Reassigned to WHL
Posted: 27th September 2009 by Miikeee D. in NHL
More people in Canada know about Rob Schremp than in his own hometown. His story has been followed ever since his days as a London Knight in the OHL (145 points in 2005-2006).
He was a prolific junior scorer with some of the best hands in the world. He could do things with a hockey stick and a puck that only few can do. He brought to light some of the ...
As the Blue Jays take the field for the last time at Rogers Center, the debate by experts, fans, and management will all center around if 2009 was a success.
This yearÆs Blue Jays were not supposed to have a good year, and they did not. They are more than 20 games out of a playoff spot, and will probably finish 12-15 games below .500.
In terms of a competitive season, this ...
50MC’s 2009-2010 Fearless Fantasy Hockey Forecast: Sergei Shirokov
Posted: 26th September 2009 by Miikeee D. in NHL
In the NHL, every fall brings opportunity. It is the start of a new season when over 60 players from every organization are invited to challenge to make an impression.
Whether it be the old (Theo Fleury) or the new (Nazem Kadri), there have been a slew of players from all backgrounds trying to make it onto their big club this fall. In both cases, the stories are great.
But there is ...
Recently, I have been trying to re-build my fantasy hockey team, but have found limited resources. For baseball, I usually rely on Project Prospect, which wonderfully outlines all of the top talent in the Majors. Please visit the site for in-depth analysis on the gameÆs future. I will attempt to build a similar list as their Top 25 Under 25, except for hockey.
As opposed to Project Prospect, who uses the ...
Sheldon Souray will score more goals than Mike Green
Green scored 31 goals last year in 68 games. That’s unreal. Souray only scored 23 (in 81 games). However, with Pat Quinn now in Edmonton, he will lean on Souray's booming shot from the point on the powerplay. Souray has one of the hardest shots in the league and Edmonton has the personnel to get him open.
The St. Louis Blues will win ...
Mike Richards
I don’t want to because I like the Flyers’ chances this year, but there is something about off-season double shoulder surgery that scares me. Vincent Lecavalier had a shoulder surgery in 2007 and his production fell off last season. Could Richards follow the same path? Something tells me yes.
In which case, head coach, John Stevens could convert Jeff Carter’s line as the top line and Claude Giroux will center ...
Nik Antropov: 50 MC’s 2009-10 Fearless Fantasy Forecast
Posted: 22nd September 2009 by Miikeee D. in NHL
Nik Antropov. Nikolai freakin' Antropov.
He actually wasn’t as bad as some people would have you think. (FYI: I think Steve Simmons is a babbling idiot. He’s right up there with Bob McKowen and Roger Lajoie).
Antropov finished last season with a career high 59 points, including 28 goals.
Twenty eight goals!
He accomplished this while playing on the offensively-challenged Toronto Maple Leafs and the even more offensively-challenged New York Rangers.
Despite all this, he ...
