NBA Quick Shots (Oct. 20th): Minnesota’s Al Jefferson Out Indefinitely

Al Jefferson Out Indefinitely
Jefferson is dealing with Achilles tendinitis, and his availability for the rest of the preseason is likely in doubt, while his regular season prospects are uncertain as well.
This does not bode well for the Minnesota frontcourt, which is already dealing with a likely lengthy loss of Kevin Love (below).
They should still be drafted, but be careful how high you take them.
Kevin Love Scheduled For Surgery ...
NFL Quick Hits (Oct. 20th): Michael Crabtree To Start

Jets' Kris Jenkins Lost For Season Jenkins will miss the rest of the 2009 season with a torn ACL, as feared, and could face a struggle to return in 2010. He's over 30 and with the injuries piling up over the years, there's no guarantee that he'll be back. In the short-term, this kills the Jets' run-stopping prowess, and could hurt their defense overall in the long ...
Week Seven NFL Power Rankings: Denver Is the Real Deal
Posted: 20th October 2009 by kevin roberts in NFL
They wear uniforms that are ugly, yet, strangely awesome and beautiful. Their quarterback has a neck-beard. And they aren't sexy.
While "sexy" gets you style points in today's NFL, running opposing offenses into the ground and playing smart, efficient football gets you wins.
I doubted the Denver Broncos as the best team in football last week, but a very solid performance from all facets of the game showed (in front ...
This old guy is fired up. You could swear it was 1996 up in this joint. And by "joint," I mean 2009, the Mall of America Stadium, and this awesome Minnesota Vikings offense.
And by 1996, I mean this team looks better than Favre's only Super Bowl winner. Oh, and as if it hasn't been beaten to death already, the dude is old.
Stop me if you've heard this before, but Brett ...
I vouched for this kid. And regardless of many other experts opinions, he made me look like a genius while leading the surprise New York Jets to a 3-0 start.
But I never said this was a Cinderella story. I said this was a playoff team , but I never alluded to the dream that he was a playoff-caliber quarterback .
He's a rookie, folks. This is what rookies do.

Oakland Raiders: Playing GM for a Day to Get Black and Silver Going Right Way
Posted: 14th October 2009 by kevin roberts in NFL
The Oakland Raiders have problems. And, while I am well aware that is the understatement of the century, it needs to be said.
The next step is acceptance.
However, the awesome thing about the NFL, that short of last season's winless Detroit Lions team, almost no team has a complete roster full of trash.
We don't have to get too emotional or over-analytical about this. Cleaning-up this once proud and now depressed franchise ...
Denver Broncos Turning into Remarkable Story at 5-0

So, this is what redemption is like?
Josh McDaniels found himself dancing around like a nerd who just got a date to the prom, and his Denver Broncos went to 5-0 after he beat his old boss. Pretty impressive.Actually, that's impressive on it's own. Undefeated. Beating the old boss, and all in your first year as a head coach. But what's even more impressive, is how he did it, and what led ...
(Austin is probably still available in your league.)
This isn't the article that tells you (or suggests) who to start, sit, or look out for. This isn't the one that advises you who would make a good bye week stop-gap. This is the article that say, "Hey, this guy is hot, ready, and available. Pick his ass up!"These six guys are solid plays for the future, and are all reasonably available ...
(Garrard could run wild against the Rams.)
Did you get spurned by Matt Ryan sitting out of week four? How about Jay Cutler and Drew Brees taking a break in week five? If not, what is your plan to keep your 5-0 record intact when your All-Colts offense of Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, and Dallas Clark relax for their week six bye?The list goes on and on of elite players that ...
