Disclaimer: A quarterback who had one great year with the Vikings will not be on this list.
Sorry, Jeff George.
And Randall Cunningham. And Warren Moon, to an extent. And that Favre guy, I guess.
This is a top 50 Vikings list and longevity with the team means something. But there were some players who made a big impact in a short amount of time and needed to be recognized. ...
Minnesota Vikings 2010 Draft Frightens and Confuses Fans
Posted: 25th April 2010 by JP Frederick in NFL
The Minnesota Vikings spent the NFL draft prioritizing the backup running back position; drafting a quarterback who will play wide receiver and a linebacker who will play fullback; and selecting Penn State's backup tight end.
And their fans looked on and wondered: Why?
Why not trade up for potential starting offensive lineman such as Mike Iupati or Maurkice Pouncey? Why allow Detroit to snag Jahvid Best? Why draft a high-upside, underachiever from ...
2010 NFL Draft: Who and What the Minnesota Vikings Should Look for Pick-by-Pick
Posted: 14th April 2010 by JP Frederick in NFL
It has been a quiet offseason for the Minnesota Vikings and that is the way it should be.
This team was this close to the Super Bowl last year and returns a talented core of veterans in their prime and emerging stars. The Vikings didn't have much to add or change from last year's team.
So far, the biggest free agent acquisition for the Vikings has been kickoff specialist Rhys Lloyd. ...
2010 FC NFL Mock Draft: At 30, the Minnesota Vikings Select…

Really?
....Really?
Sam Bradford, the former Heisman-winning QB from Oklahoma, the projected top-five (if not first overall) pick, is still here?
Well.....then this is pretty easy, isn't it?
Draft the young kid, the heir apparent. Minnesota can't pass up the chance to get a potential franchise quarterback this late in the draft. Let him learn from ol' Brett Favre and then Bradford can take over in a year or two.
Just a little bit of ...
10 Things for the Minnesota Vikings To Do This Offseason

I do not want to talk about the Minnesota Vikings. Not at all.
Too many memories, traumas.
But I am a Vikings featured columnist here at BleacherReport. I need to man up and...

Who Do the Vikings Want To Play in the Second Round?
Posted: 3rd January 2010 by JP Frederick in NFL
Someone send some champagne to the Cowboys, will ya? Some fancy stuff, twenty bucks ought to cover it.áThank the Giants for leaving their hearts in New York, too.
While there is justified bliss over Sunday's results, and everyone should celebrate in one way or another (be it donkey-punching a friend or drinking paint thinner until tomorrow's sun goes down), it is hard to dissect a hollow win over a Giants team ...
Are the Minnesota Vikings Half Empty or Half Full?

HALF EMPTY
Son of a...!
Every year, Adrian Peterson fumbles, and fumbles, and fumbles. And every year, Vikings players, coaches, the fans, and Peterson himself all say it's not that big of a concern, that he's getting better at protecting the ball. And every year, the problem grows, and grows, and grows, like a herpes sore on Paris Hilton.
Hold. On. To. The. Ball.
Doesn't he have the strongest handshake since Goliath? And yet ...
Can't blame Favre. This pathetically flat performance was a team effort.á
The Minnesota Vikings sleepwalked through their Sunday night game in Carolina, unaware that they couldn't just show up and win in the NFL, and lost 26-7.
While they entered the fourth quarter with the lead, that evaporated seconds into the quarteráwhen the Panthers hit Steve Smith for a 42-yard touchdown.
On 3rd-and-26.
It only got worse from there.
The Vikings missed tackles time and ...
There is some commonly held beliefs out there, shared ideas and thoughts that are so entrenched in the minds of the NFL viewing public, that they eventually become believed as facts.
They are not facts. They are myths, and if these myths don't end, we're gonna end up like the Greeks. Or something similar. More like the Aztecs, probably.
So here are some of those current commonly held beliefs, ...
Arizona Cardinals Punch Minnesota Vikings in the Mouth
Posted: 7th December 2009 by JP Frederick in NFL
If you're looking for the Minnesota Vikings, check the woodshed behind the University of Phoenix Stadium.
Maybe the Vikings read too many press clippings. Maybe they got arrogant and complacent after taking that early 7-0 lead. Whatever the reason, the Vikings allowed the Arizona Cardinals to thoroughly obliterate them en route to a 30-17 loss that wasn't nearly as close as the score indicates.
Like every football beatdown since the beginning of ...
