Last night Nationals' Ballpark had an atmosphere that is usually reserved for September Pennant Races or October's post-season.
But last night was a special night in Washington D.C. as Stephen Strasburg, the savior of the franchise, made his debut, And what a debut it was.
Strasburg struck out 14 while only surrendering two earned runs, both of which came off of Delwyn Young's fourth inning home run. In seven innings ...
It seems that Albert Haynesworth has been disgruntled with the Washington Redskins' defensive scheme even before the new coaching staff was brought on.
He's claimed that he was told when he signed that he would be pass rushing, but when the regular season came it seemed he was more a plug up the middle.
Then after the horrendous 4-12 season was brought to a merciless end there was a light ...
Wal-Mart Still Isn’t Rocking The Red, But Target Finally Is
Posted: 20th April 2010 by Josh McCain in NHL
Back in February I wrote an article about how my local Wal-Mart in Virginia carried all kinds of Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Yankee merchandise to put a sporting goods store out of business.
What they didnt' carry was any Washington Capitals items. I urged them to start Rocking the Red so I could buy a hat and a few shirts for my son without having to ...
I am all for good natured joking. Whether that joking is between friends or rivals, having a small laugh at someone else's expense is alright in my book.
However, what I don't particularly care for is downright disrespect.
Last night before the puck dropped on game three between the Washington Capitals and the Montreal Canadiens the Bell Center played both "O, Canada" and "The Star Spangled Banner" as all ...

Fox News and The New York Daily News are reporting that yesterday afternoon Jered Weaver and Matt Palmer of the L.A. Angels witnessed a 39-year-old man leap to his death from the top of Le Parker Meridien Hotel on 56th Street in midtown.
Both players are said to be shaken by the event. Weaver would not talk to the Daily News reporter after the incident.
Palmer, however, spoke briefly and told ...
Phillies Fans Invade Nationals Park, and Nats’ Ownership Encouraged It

Regardless on how bad the previous season ended, there is always a glimmer of hope on Opening Day that those doom and gloom days are behind you.
For more than 80 years there was a common phrase in Boston, "This Year is the Year", and for the most part all fans believe that for their favorite teams.
One thing that keeps this hope alive is the roar of the home crowd, or ...
Washington Redskins: What to Do If Sam Bradford Falls to Four?
Posted: 26th March 2010 by Josh McCain in NFL
You draft him! That's what you do if you're the Washington Redskins and Sam Bradford is still sitting in the Green Room.
Listen, I know a lot of you, my loyal readers, are going to be screaming from the tallest buildings in our nation's capital that we need to rebuild an offensive line.
And you're absolutely right, we do. However, we also need a franchise quarterback and honestly who knows ...
To answer my own question, no he shouldn't.
Listen, I understand that the way Alexander Ovechkin plays he's going to injury himself and tally up a few more suspensions before he plays his final game, and like any other player in any other sport you are just going to have to take the good with the bad.
And personally I don't think the way he plays the game is bad at all.
First ...
It is being reported by Redskins.com and The Washington Post that the Washington Redskins have signed free agent quarterback Rex Grossman.
Grossman is a former Super Bowl quarterback with the Chicago Bears and spent last season with current Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan in Houston.
No details on the contract have been released at this time.
Is this a good signing or bad signing?
Hard to tell without knowing the logistics of the contract, ...
Linebacker Joey Porter is scheduled to make a visit to Redskins Park this week in Ashburn, Virginia.
The former Miami Dolphin turns 33 this month and would a surprise pickup for the Redskins.
It has been known that the team was looking for an inside linebacker to play next to London Fletcher in the team's new 3-4 defense, and that isn't Porter, or at least that isn't where he's used to playing.
For ...
