Posted: 6th July 2010 by Jonathan Bales in NFL
If there was any doubt remaining regarding the relationship status of Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin and Kim Kardashian, the plethora of recent pictures of the two together has squashed it.
Austin was recently snapped celebrating the birthday of Kim’s sister, Khloe, with the entire Kardashian family (including Khloe’s husband, Lakers forward Lamar Odom) on a private yacht. Later, the couple spent the Fourth of July ...
Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas listed Marion Barber and David Buehler as people over which to worry . On the other hand, he thinks Doug Free and Alan Ball will be fine.
We'd actually reverse this. While there is certainly a lot of confidence in Free and Ball, the Cowboys must at least be somewhat worried about whether the two players' inexperience will come back to ...
Jammal Brown and Dallas Cowboys: Was Their Interest Real?
Posted: 21st June 2010 by Jonathan Bales in NFL
There is certainly a ton of mystery surrounding the Cowboys’ offensive tackle position.
Current starting left tackle Doug Free has very little experience at the position, having backed up Marc Colombo at right tackle last season. He did an admirable job filling in and his skill set is probably better suited for left tackle anyway, but the question mark remains.
Colombo was solid (but not spectacular) at ...
What Is Patrick Crayton’s Future With the Dallas Cowboys?
Posted: 9th June 2010 by Jonathan Bales in NFL
Some players in the NFL are so athletic and explosive that you have no choice but to marvel over their talent. Other players are less naturally-gifted, but still do all of the little things right to succeed. They work hard. They study film. They stay out of trouble.
No one would mistake Cowboys wide receiver Patrick Crayton as falling into anything other than the latter group—and that ...

Posted: 25th May 2010 by Jonathan Bales in NFL
It is no secret that the Cowboys shopped defensive end Marcus Spears during the draft. It is likely that Spears garnered some interest, but not enough for Dallas to give him up. (They reportedly wanted a third-rounder or better.)
But should the Cowboys have pulled the trigger on Spears, a restricted free agent who will almost certainly be out of Dallas in 2011?
After all, Spears may not even start this season. ...

Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Cowboys and Rams are closing in on a deal that would send nickel linebacker Bobby Carpenter to St. Louis for offensive tackle Alex Barron . The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting the deal will happen as soon as tomorrow. The main deterrents to a possible trade are the contracts of both players. We have previously completed four other Cowboys-only mock drafts, listed here: Version 1.0 , 2.0 , 3.0 , and 4.0 . Some of those predictions were based on various scenarios, such as a stud player at a position of “non-need” dropping to the Cowboys.
This mock draft, our final version, will include our best guess for each Cowboys draft selection. How many will we predict correctly? I’m ...
Every year we make a list of somewhat bold predictions concerning the NFL Draft. Below are this year’s forecasts–five general NFL predictions, and five dealing solely with the Cowboys.
Non-Cowboys Predictions
1. Florida QB Tim Tebow will be drafted in the first round.
Is Tebow a first-round talent? We think so, but obviously a handful of teams do not (Jerry Jones, do you have any thoughts on Tebow ?).
Nonetheless, someone ...
