Why Cliff Lee Has No Shot at Coming to The Bronx This Season
Posted: 3rd July 2010 by Jason Kim in MLB
Many Yankees fans have been hoping that Cliff Lee would end up in New York this season via trade with the Seattle Mariners.
But it will never happen.
The Yankees seem content with the current starting rotation: Javier Vasquez has turned around and A.J. Burnett seems to be coming back to his usual form as well after a miserable June.
Believe it or not, the Yankees have a budget. Which was one of the ...
Dave Trembley compiled a 64-98 record in 2009. He had a 68-93 record in 2008.
This season, Trembley is leading the Orioles to a crisis with a 14-31 record.
How long can the Baltimore Orioles stick with this guy, who is maybe the worst manager in baseball at this time?
Trey Hillman tested the Royals' patience until he was fired. Ned Yost replaced Hillman and has done a decent job so far.
With the performance he ...
There's no doubt the New York Yankees has had some pretty good prospects over the years: Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada, and Derek Jeter. These days' prospects are Jesus Montero, Francisco Cervelli, Austin Jackson (who left via trade), and Phil Hughes.
Austin Jackson was supposed to be the starting center-fielder, but Brian Cashman traded him for Curtis Granderson, who is now injured. Jackson is thriving as the leadoff guy as ...
Twenty-seven up, twenty-seven down.
Oakland Athletics pitcher lefty Dallas Braden threw the 17th ever perfect game (in the Modern Era) today against the Tampa Bay Rays, and the first one on Mother's Day.
It was the 2nd time the Rays had been thrown against a perfect game in less than a year.
Braden, 26, was recently known for his comments on Yankee Alex Rodriguez stepping over the mound to get over to 1st ...
Former 2007 No. 1 draft pick JaMarcus Russell was released by the Oakland Raiders today.
He was signed to the richest contract ever by a draft pick: a six-year, $61 million contract.
Russell played for the Raiders for three years, where he never was able to prove himself. As a starter, he only won seven games.
Last year in 2009, JaMarcus Russell was given the starting job once again, but lost his job ...
How great is this story?
Colby Lewis struggles with several Major League teams, the Rangers, Athletics, Tigers, and the Nationals, in the U.S.
Then in 2008 and 2009, he plays for the Hiroshima Toyo Carps in Japan. He thrives there, leading the league in strikeouts both seasons. Then he comes back and dominates for the Rangers in the States. Pretty good, huh?
When rumors surfaced about the Texas Rangers bringing back their former ...
Javier Vasquez is struggling in the American League. Period.
Someone needs to send this guy to a National League as soon as possible.
Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman would trade him for prospects or a consistent arm for the American League.
Releasing him would be a big risk, as his salary is $11.5 million.
Yankees fans thought this guy could turn around and be a dependable No. 4 starter, but that proved to be ...
In the 2010 season, some teams have the most dominant pitchers of the game. If MLB had to go against any kind of other league out of the United States, which pitchers would you take? The one with the pinpoint control? The hottest pitcher in the league? These would be my picks: the best starting pitchers for a rotation.

The Player That Would Help The Padres If They Are For Real
Posted: 28th April 2010 by Jason Kim in MLB
Jermaine Dye.
He was the slugging Right Fielder for the Chicago White Sox last season, but has not found a home yet due to his slow finish in 2009.
Overall though, he finished the year with decent numbers: 27 HRs 81 RBIs .250 average.
He isn't about to retire yet, as he can still provide some power.
This offseason, Dye was reported that he was negotiating on a contract with the Padres, first alerted ...
After the Arizona Diamondbacks finished last place in the NL West in their '09 campaign, they have made a few changes to their roster. There were some good news and bad news last year, such as that Reynold found his bat but Webb missed almost the entire season.
