Spice up your postseason with Buffalo Wild Wings and 10 Yards on DVD
Posted: 5th January 2010 by Jacob Sloan in NFL
IÆve been meaning to get to a giveaway for some time now, but wrapping up my fantasy football leagues and trash-talking opponents from leagues in which I won the championshipùitÆs a requirement of any champion, you knowùtook more of my free hours than expected last week. With the fantasy season coming to a close (unless youÆre playing playoff fantasy football with FF Librarian ), I still have a few prizes ...
Foolish Thoughts on 2009 Season: So why didn’t we all draft Chris Johnson?
Posted: 29th December 2009 by Jacob Sloan in MLB, NFL
ItÆs insanity. ThatÆs what fantasy football is when it comes to the playoffs. Jonathan Stewart and Jerome Harrison become huge fantasy steals in the final two games, and studs that youÆve depending on all season like Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers clam up and shut down early, even in blowout wins. At least Chris Johnson has continued to be magical every week.
I forget how bizarre it really becomes until itÆs ...
I usually donÆt write these kinds of posts, the ones that look at just one particular teamÆs chances in the NFL playoffs, but considering the fantasy season is winding to a close, I felt compelled to share my take on one of this weekÆs big storylines .
In the midst of a 15-10 third quarter with the Jets this week, the Colts, on the path to perfection, decided to sit their ...
Week 14 Hot Hands and Cold Shoulders: You Know Where This is Going
Posted: 10th December 2009 by Jacob Sloan in NFL
I thought weÆd do things a little differently this week. By this point, I expect that most of you know who you are starting and sitting during these critical weeks of the fantasy playoffs . As such, I donÆt think youÆll need as much help deciding which players to start and sit.
Trust is as important a factor as any, and you have to go with your trustworthy guys.
So, rather ...
On the Wire: Week 13 Pickups, Vince Young, Fred Jackson, and Playoff Depth
Posted: 2nd December 2009 by Jacob Sloan in NFL
LetÆs not play games. I know youÆre most likely looking for just one or two players to complete your fantasy football playoff dynasty before Week 13 or ignoring most of the free agents for a chance to ride out the season while looking nonchalant.
Chicks dig nonchalant.
While itÆs always admirable to fight to the bitter end, it is hard to find your motivation at this point in the season. ThatÆs when ...
Foolish Thoughts: My Beef with Fleaflicker’s Coach Rating
Posted: 2nd December 2009 by Jacob Sloan in NFL
ItÆs one of the most frustrating occurrences in fantasy football.
ItÆs not a Baltimore fan complaining about the refs or John Carney missing three kicks when just one would have won the fantasy game you lost by a point.
No, the most sickening feeling in fantasy football hits you when you start the wrong guys.áThereÆs nothing more infuriating than watching the points pile up on your bench only to flap in ...
Fourth and One Debate: Waiver Wire Stashes for the NFL Fantasy Playoffs
Posted: 26th November 2009 by Jacob Sloan in NFL
So youÆre prepping your team for the final push, but youÆre worried you need a couple more warm bodies? Well, thatÆs not a problem. ThatÆs what a fantasy football roundtable is for.
This weekÆs Fourth & 1 Debate topic came from Hatty Waiver Wire Guru . He asked:
Waivers are about to close in some leagues for the playoffs; who should we be grabbing for the final push?
My entry to the fantasy ...
Foolish Thoughts: Turner, Benson, Brown, Westbrook Struck by Fantasy Jinx
Posted: 17th November 2009 by Jacob Sloan in NFL
ItÆs all your fault, you know. Yes, you, the one who pointed out how few injuries had struck fantasy owners thus far this season. YouÆre the reason we lost Cedric Benson, Ronnie Brown , Michael Turner , Julius Jones , and Brian Westbrook (again).
You jinxed three of the top backs in fantasyàand Julius Jones just happened to go down the same week.
I would say you cost us Kyle ...
NFL Fantasy On the Wire: Week 10 Pickups Are Slim Pickings

Note: This post will be updated tomorrow when IÆm back at a keyboard.

IÆve been in California this week at a conference. I donÆt know how these people handle football starting at 10 a.m. on Sundays. ItÆs just plain weird.
But the important thing here is that I havenÆt had Internet all week. Sorry, hotel, but I am not going to pay a limb per day to get on the Interwebs. IÆm ...
ThereÆs nothing glamorous about pickups at this point in the season. YouÆre either struggling to find meaning in your season after falling desperately behind the rest of the teams in your league, or fortifying and defending your team by building a stronger bench with these free agents.
But the picks are especially un-sexy this week. Pick æem if you gotta.
