Posted: 4th April 2010 by Jack Bloomfield in NFL
After watching an ungodly amount of college tape, as well as watching all 2009 Texans games multiple times in recent weeks, I have worked out what I believe to be the best outcome of the first three rounds of the 2010 NFL Draft for the Houston Texans.
Round 1
With the loss of Dunta Robinson, the Texans have a huge hole to fill at corner. They need a starter. Someone who can ...

This deal comes off Ryans' second Pro Bowl season, the first being 2007, and keeps in place a dynamic and important piece of the ever improving Texan defense.

In 2009 the Houston Texans earned the first winning record in franchise history. At 9-7 they also placed themselves in the middle of the playoff hunt in the AFC, and would have gotten there if the New York Jets were not handed two victories at the end of last season.
Despite getting over the proverbial winning season hump, the Texans need to focus on 2010. With one of the best offences ...

NFL Offseason Trades: Two Trades That Simply Make Sense
Posted: 19th February 2010 by Jack Bloomfield in NFL
"The Rams should offer the No. 1 pick to the Chargers for Rivers and Antonio Gates."
The NFL, more than any other major sports league in North America suffers from what I like to call "Home-team induced stupidity." Every fan in the country seems to think that his team's side of a trade proposal is far more valuable than anyone with half an ounce of common sense should.
However, if you try ...
Every year, the entire football world has a constant argument as to who is most deserving of the individual awards for the year. Almost everyone has a different opinion, although some awards are crystal clear to everyone. As everyone else will undoubtedly do, I decided to chime in with my choices and reasons.á

Dear Bob McNair: The Houston Texans Need a New Head Coach, I Am Done
Posted: 29th December 2009 by Jack Bloomfield in NFL
2009 has been a season of ups and downs for the Houston Texans.
After starting the season as most pundits' darling pick for the playoffs and getting off to the best start in franchise history, the Houston Texans of old decided to show up.
After some disappointing performances and three consecutive blown games against division opponents, they appeared to be dead and buried. áááForward to their usual December run and, although just ...
Over the past 2 years, the world has seen a shake-up in the economy not witnessed in decades with multi-Billion dollar companies crashing. Hundreds of Billions have been ploughed into others to save them from tanking. Whether this was a smart move on the part of the government is a debate for another column. The Bail-Out plan I have a problem with is the NFL.
Ever since Pete Rozelle convinced the ...
