Lakers vs. Celtics Game 5: Lamar Odom Needs to Find His Heart, Hustle
Posted: 12th June 2010 by Hadarii Jones in NBA
"My heart don't pump Kool-Aid."
That was a popular phrase in my youth, which was used by peers when courage needed to be summoned in order to complete a task, and it was as much a battle-cry as a statement.
Kool-Aid coursing through a person's heart was a sign of cowardice, and in order to prove your worthiness one had to exhibit that the only fluid that ran through their heart was ...
Cleveland Cavaliers’ Best Chance To Keep LeBron James? Name Him Coach and GM
Posted: 7th June 2010 by Hadarii Jones in NBA
Reports surfaced earlier today which said the Cleveland Cavaliers' head coaching job had been offered to Michigan State coach Tom Izzo, and if this is true yet another chapter has been added to the LeBron James saga.
Izzo seems much better suited to prowl the college sidelines than the NBA's, and besides, the solutions to all of the Cavaliers' problems could be right in front of owner Dan Gilbert's eyes.
The offseason ...
Kobe Bryant’s Subtle Gesture Silences the Phoenix Suns
Posted: 30th May 2010 by Hadarii Jones in NBA
Kobe Bryant turned to Phoenix Suns' head coach Alvin Gentry after hitting a critical fadeaway jumper over Grant Hill, that was ridiculously well-defended, and gave him a light tap on the back side.
It was a sign of sportsmanship, respect, and a clear signal that the Los Angeles Lakers had just defeated the Phoenix Suns in Game Six of the Western Conference Finals.
Gentry had few words to describe Bryant's 37-point clutch ...

The Boston Celtics' series clinching, Game Six victory over the Orlando Magic was the first step to a much-anticipated rematch of the 2008 NBA Finals, and now it's up to the Los Angeles Lakers to see if they can join them.
The Lakers' task will not be simple as they must head to Phoenix and face a very confident Suns' team, who feels they had every chance to win Game Five ...
2010 NBA Draft: Evan Turner Is Good Now, John Wall Could Be Great Later
Posted: 25th May 2010 by Hadarii Jones in NBA
Before the college basketball season began, most people felt Kentucky freshman John Wall would be the top pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, and while that is still the general consensus, Ohio State's Evan Turner merits consideration as arguably the Draft's best player.
I recently wrote an article concerning the hype surrounding Wall, and not only did most of the readers agree that Wall was over-hyped, but many thought Turner would ...
Kobe Bryant’s Response To the Phoenix Suns’ Idle Chatter? He’d Rather Pass
Posted: 20th May 2010 by Hadarii Jones in NBA
Phoenix Suns' forward Jared Dudley said he would view the video from the Suns' Game One loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, and see if Lamar Odom and Ron Artest could repeat their performances.
Amare Stoudemire said Odom's Game One performance was "lucky," and went a step further to say Pau Gasol was someone he dominated until Gasol was traded to Los Angeles, and teamed with Andrew Bynum.
I'm sure Kobe Bryant ...
No Need for a King: Five Teams Who Will Not Seek LeBron James’ Services
Posted: 15th May 2010 by Hadarii Jones in NBA
Even though there is quite a bit of basketball left to be played in the NBA, it seems like all anyone can talk about is LeBron James and where his free agency journey might end.
Teams like Chicago, Miami, New York, and New Jersey are all hoping James decides to bolt from Cleveland and become the ressurector of their franchises.
There are also some teams who have absolutely no shot to land ...
Does the Utah Jazz’s Quick Playoff Exit Mean That Carlos Boozer Is Gone?
Posted: 11th May 2010 by Hadarii Jones in NBA
For the third straight year the Utah Jazz's postseason fate has been decided by the Los Angeles Lakers, and even though the pain from this defeat will linger, thoughts immediately shift to forward Carlos Boozer's future with the team.
Or maybe it's better to say Boozer's lack of a future in Utah, because after Boozer's courageous but desperate performance against the Lakers, it's all but certain he will don the colors ...
The NBA Views Kobe Bryant As an All-Time Great, So Why Can’t You?
Posted: 11th May 2010 by Hadarii Jones in NBA
The Los Angeles Lakers completed a four game sweep of the Utah Jazz on Monday night, and Kobe Bryant was able to achieve another little piece of history in the process.
Bryant became the first player to ever score 30 points in the first four games in a series against Utah, and even though this series was defined by the Lakers height advantage in the post, Bryant still managed to stamp ...
the All-NBA teams were released today, and the composition of the first team should come as no surprise, unless you are the most casual NBA viewer, and even then it would be hard to make that claim if you couldn't recognize any of these players.
Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Dwight Howard comprised the first team, and regardless of what order you choose to place them in, ...
