Minnesota Clinches Playoff Spot: Favre Reminiscent of 2007
Posted: 16th December 2009 by ExJx Brooks in NFL
Please, don't fear the end of season "Favre Slide."
Minnesota is in the playoffs and if there is a time Favre is needed, itÆs in the playoffs. All he needs is support from the rest of the Vikings.
In a season shaping up to be much like 2007, for Favre at least, the ôFavre Slideö is the last thing they should be worried about.
Iáwasáinterested to see the differences in the last two ...
Potential Shown vs. Lions a Fluke; Browns Suffer Reality Check Against Cincy
Posted: 30th November 2009 by ExJx Brooks in NFL
I wrote an article last week about how terrible the Browns are and what I thought they needed to do about it.
Of course as usual Browns fans, being their predictable selves, proceeded to comment me a new one. Me being me, I fought back.
They asked if I had seen any of the Browns games thus far, specifically last weeks performance.
They told me there were plenty of players with potential.
I ...
Although the Cleveland Browns aren't the only 1-9 team right now, they are the worst team in the league.
They lost to the only team in NFL history to go winless in a 16ùgame season this past Sunday. Yesùthey lost to the Detroit Lions.
From top to bottom this organization is horrible.
The ownership is cheap, the general manager was crap, and now their "lack there of" head coach has shown not ...
After an 8-1 start you would think that the Favre-haters would take a break and at least wait for him to make a mistake, but of course much like the iron-man himself, they just won't go away.
The Vikes enjoyed a mid-season bye and came out fighting yet again and are on their way to a NFC North division title.
The Lions did not disappoint this week as they did in Week ...
Green Bay Packers: Haters Gonna Hate, Playas Gonna Play
Posted: 9th November 2009 by ExJx Brooks in NFL
It's nice to see that even though Brett Favre and the Vikings have the week off, the "holier than thou" Favre bashers do not.
Well, here I am to punch the clock and put in some work.
I'd like to take a moment to ponder why?
Why all the hate?
Why all the animosity?
I mean, the Packers' brass bashers stopped once Favre was gone. True Packers fans have put the differences behind them, and ...
At the risk of contradicting myself, I must say the Pack is not as good as I thought.
Still very much in the hunt at 4-3, they looked like a team struggling to survive this past Sunday.
Despite another decent game from quarterback Aaron Rodgers, 287 yards and three TDs, the defense and the offensive line looked horrible and ultimately lost this one.
The defense fell flat, not only allowing Adrian Peterson to ...
In a season overshadowed by the return of Brett Favre, the Pack may be performing better than the almost perfect Vikings.
Although the Vikings have stolen the show, the Packers have put themselves in a position to win the division many believed they would. Of course this prediction was made before "Mr. Unsure" (Favre) finally made his decision to come back.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Brett ...
After six weeks of debating, I think it's time for all the nay-sayers to show some respect.
The Minnesota Vikings are 6-0.
Brett Favre has only thrown two picks in 178 attempts and Adrian Peterson (AP) leads the league in rushing yards and is second in TDs.
I am, as most know a Packers fan and a huge Favre fan; but as I said in the beginning of the season, the Vikes' were ...
Enforcing The NFL’s No. 1 Rule: Favre on Monday Night
Posted: 6th October 2009 by ExJx Brooks in NFL
Monday night was a gut-wrenching, vindicating, heartbreaking, on the edge game all rolled into one.
On one hand, you had future Hall of Famer Brett Favre. On the other, you had the Green Bay Packers.
Problem: I love them both, and of course there's the whole "he used to play for the Pack" thing, too.The game lived up to its hype and then some. Favre was able to play up to the ...
It has recently come to my attention that the Jets, Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum, and former Jets head coach Eric Mangini, now the Cleveland Browns head coach, have all been fined in what is now known as "Favre-gate."
Two weeks ago, the NFL fined the Jets ($75,000), Tannenbaum ($25,000), and Mangini ($25,000) after a league investigation turned up evidence that the organization failed to report Brett Favre's injury, a torn ...
