Minnesota Timberwolves Lose to Boston Celtics After Multiple Stop Clock Plays
Posted: 4th November 2009 by Ethan McVansen in NBA
Normally, I wouldn't complain about these things. But the Timberwolves came within mere seconds of tying the unbeaten Celtics, and two fouls remained uncalled.
Celtics up 92-90.
The Wolves got possession of the ball after Paul Pierce missed a shot that would've put the game away.
Wolves get the rebound and dribble down the court and call a timeout with around 10 seconds left.
They inbound, and get the ball knocked out of bounds. ...
Minnesota's roster of 15 players aren't the highest-quality players in the world, but some of them are all right for Minny's future. So who should stay in the long run, and who should be out of here?
Mark Blount ù Sleeper ù OK, he's basically just a salary dump at the end of the season, so why even bother going into more detail? In the long run, we kind of got ...
Previous rankings come from my earlier article:

From the predictions before the preseason started.
1. Boston (3) - A 5-0 record is a lot better than some experts were predicting. A healthy Garnett is obviously helping and the addition of Rasheed Wallace is more of an upgrade than an attention hungry defender (Artest), and a worn down ultra-celebrity (Shaq). Are you listening, LA and Cleveland?
2. Orlando (5) - They do ...
With so many confusing positions up for grabs on the Wolves' roster, who is going to start at each is a complete mystery. Here are the candidates:
á
Point Guard: Jonny Flynn, Ramon Sessions.
It has to be one of them. A third party couldn't possibly start for this club, it has to be one or the other. Flynn is currently the teams' No. 1 candidate for new best player, but Sessions could ...
Write an explanatory introduction to your slideshow. The introduction must be at least 300 characters, though most introductions are longer. This is what Bleacher Report tells you to do for an introduction. This has gotten to me every time, I don't have 300 characters worth of stuff to say about this topic. The NBA should extend the league by 2 more teams, giving them 32 teams, and here ...
Extending the NBA Two More Teams Part I: Why They Should
Posted: 18th October 2009 by Ethan McVansen in NBA
The National basketball league has 30 teams. That's a good number. It's an even number, so it can be divided in half, it gives most states a team to root for, and it just seems like it isn't too few.á
The way it is currently situated, however, isn't perfect.
More teams are in the playoffs than aren't. How does that work? A team that is just plain average still has the opportunity ...
MVP, NBA Champion, Most Improved Player, and 6th Man are all impressive awards to get. Sometimes, however, it's a little more fun to look at the 'Not So Impressive' awards. These awards include, -Worst Acquisition -Worst Draft Pick -Worst Team and different awards of that nature. At the end there will also be a 'worst position' section, where there will be the worst starting _____ of the ...
The 2009-10 Minnesota Timberwolves: It’s a Would You Rather Game
Posted: 27th September 2009 by Ethan McVansen in NBA
With the Timberwolves completely reformed this year, you have to wonder how they're going to compare to 08-09.
Well it's fair to make comparisons between last year and this year on a would you rather scale.
So would you rather have:
á
Randy Foye or Ramon Sessions?
Jonny Flynn or Sebastian Telfair?
Last Year's or This Year's Al Jefferson?
Last Year's or This Year's Kevin Love?
Last Year's or This Year's Corey Brewer?
Last Year's or This Year's Ryan ...
We all know that the Knicks are really preparing themselves for 2010. Some other teams have been making the proper preparations for the big free agent season next summer, which includes names like LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh. Out of the well prepared teams, this is a general outlook at those teams and the players they could select.Begin Slideshow
A lot of teams can't predict who will be better than whom when they draft players. These are the extreme examples of players who really failed to make it into the NBA, whether it came from injuries, failure to launch, or other instances that made their careers difficult to start.
Notable draftees that are close to making the list, but are too early to tell include:
Corey Brewer
Greg Oden
Danilo Gallinari
and Ricky Rubio
These ...
