The Yankees are looking to add to their offense for the second half of the 2010 season.
According to Ed Price of AOLFunhouse and MLB Trade Rumors, the Yankees are showing major interest in Baltimore Orioles utility player Ty Wigginton.
Wigginton is in the final year of his contract with the last-place Orioles and has been rumored to be on the trading block.
Trading for a guy like Wigginton would make sense for ...
Should the New York Yankees Try To Trade For Paul Konerko?

Over the weekend, the Yankees overtook the Rays for first place in the American League East division.
But it has now become a three team race since the Red Sox are playing better and are now on the Yankees Rays coat-tails.
The Yankees have been playing well in the month of June, but they are entering the dog days of summer and the A.L. East pennant race will only be getting tougher.
There ...
Has Javier Vazquez Finally Figured It Out With the Yankees?
Posted: 12th June 2010 by Doug Rush in MLB
I think a lot of us owe Javier Vazquez a big time apology. Especially me.
In April and early May, I basically had all but packed his bags and tried to ship him back to the National League.
I did a popular feature story on how Vazquez would easily fit in with the Mets. A lot of you agreed with the story and some disagreed with it.
Some who disagreed thought I needed ...
Should Francisco Cervelli be the New York Yankees Starting Catcher?
Posted: 10th May 2010 by Doug Rush in MLB
For much of the early 2010 season, long time Yankees catcher Jorge Posada has been banged up with a calf injury, and has had to miss some time for the team.
For the Yankees, though, this hasn't been a major problem, due to the great play of backup catcher Francisco Cervelli.
When the season started Cervelli really wasn't playing much, except for when Posada absolutely needed a day off to rest.
Then Posada ...
Trading Javier Vazquez to the New York Mets Would Make Sense for the Yankees
Posted: 3rd May 2010 by Doug Rush in MLB
So far in 2010, it's pretty safe to say that Javier Vazquez stinks for the Yankees.
He hasn't just been bad. He's been horrific—so horrific that every time he departs from Yankee Stadium, he gets by far the loudest boos of the team.
In his first five starts back with the team, he is 1-3 with a 9.78 ERA.
His longest outing thus far has been 5.2 innings. His innings totals aren't that ...
Does David Robertson Need To Be Sent Back Down To The Minors?
Posted: 1st May 2010 by Doug Rush in MLB
Following a Nick Swisher home run Saturday, the Yankees just reclaimed a 6-5 lead from the White Sox after Javier Vazquez's slow start put the Yankees in a quick hole.
However, in the top of the seventh, Yankee manager Joe Girardi pulled Sergio Mitre who pitched well in relief of Vazquez and went with reliever David Robertson. Robertson was projected to be one of the team's best relievers going in 2010.
Robertson ...
Should the New York Yankees Start Sergio Mitre With Javier Vazquez Struggling?
Posted: 27th April 2010 by Doug Rush in MLB
In the beginning of the 2010 season, a lot of things have gone right for the Yankees.
Curtis Granderson is fitting well into the center field spot for the Yankees, as is Brett Gardner in the left field spot.
Phil Hughes is doing a tremendous job as the fifth starter while for the most part, Joba Chamberlain has done a good job as the setup man.
However, there has been one glitch so ...
Yankees-Angels: Robinson Cano, Yanks Have L.A.’s Number on Jackie Robinson Day
Posted: 15th April 2010 by Doug Rush in MLB
On April 15, 1947, 28-year-old Jackie Robinson of the Brooklyn Dodgers broke baseball's color barrier and started a whole new trend for Major League Baseball.
Because of that, Jackie Robinson Day is commemorated every April 15. With the exception of Yankees closer Mariano Rivera, Robinson's No. 42 is retired throughout baseball and will never be worn again.
That is except for on April 15, when every player and coach on every team that ...
Andy Pettitte, Yankees Beat Angels 7-5 in Memorable Home Opener
Posted: 13th April 2010 by Doug Rush in MLB
Tuesday afternoon's game between the Yankees and Angels was certainly more meaningful than just a regular opening game at Yankee Stadium.
Last year in 2009, they opened the brand new ballpark, replacing the one that stood for 85 years.
This year in 2010, the Yankees celebrated it by receiving their 2009 World Series Championship rings in a pre-game ceremony.
On hand were former Yankees Whitey Ford and Yogi Berra, who helped pass out ...
Javier Vazquez Shaky, Inconsistent in Yankees 9-3 Loss to the Rays
Posted: 9th April 2010 by Doug Rush in MLB
Friday night's game against the Tampa Bay Rays was the first time since 2004 that Javier Vazquez officially took the ball for the Yankees.
Most remember how bad that ended up, especially since it led to his departure from New York.
Unfortunately, his first start back wasn't any better than what most hoped for.
After Alex Rodriguez's RBI triple followed by an error gave the Yankees an early 2-0 lead, it looked like ...
