This past week we heard Andre "The Hawk" Dawson was the only former Major Leaguer inducted into Cooperstown, N.Y., site of Baseball's Hall of Fame.
It was also learned, that it was Dawson's ninth attempt, at earning enough ballots from the Baseball Writer's Associationáof America (BWAA)áto join the likes of ex-Expo greats Gary Carter and Tony Perez at the Hall.
Dawson was the only player chosen for Hall status in 2010, when ...

The Toronto Maple Leafs got more than they bargained for when they visited the not-so-friendly confines of the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia on Wednesday.
The Flyers scored early and often against the travel-weary Maple Leafs, beating them 6-2 as center Danny Briere scored twice to reach the 500-point plateau.
The Maple Leafs, who beat the Florida Panthers 3-2 at the Air Canada Center the previous night, were no match for the Flyers, who snapped a four-game ...

It was a painful trip to the frozen plains of Alberta for two Toronto Maple Leafs.

Gravboski will be out a minimum of six weeks, while Primeau may be out as long as a month, the club announced today.

Calgary Flames Douse Leafs 3-1 as Curtis Glencross Fires Two

A plethora of penalties in the second period proved costly to the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs at the Pengrowth Saddledome on Saturday.
The Leafs took three consecutive penalties in the middle stanza, including Alexei Ponikarovsky's goaltender interference minor, that enabled the Flames to score with the man-advantage en route to a 3-1 victory.
Curtis Glencrossáslapped a centering feed from captain Jerome Iginla, his first of two on the night, past Jonas Gustavssonáto ...

The Toronto Maple Leafs snapped a three-game losing streak as defenceman Ian White scored with just under 90 seconds to play, lifting them to a 4-3 victory over the hosting Pittsburgh Penguins before 17,142 fans at the Mellon Arena.
The winning goal came as a result of hard work in the corners from forwards Jason Blake and Lee Stempniak and a heads up pass from defenceman Francois Beauchemin. Beauchemin drew two ...
Toronto Maple Leafs: Out To Beat The Ghost Of Buffalo Past
Posted: 21st December 2009 by Dino Mori in NHL
The Toronto Maple Leafs are hoping that Buffalo goalie Ryan Miller is in the giving spirit when his Sabres pay a visit to the Air Canada Center Monday night.
Miller has performed more like the Grinch against Toronto, posting a stingy 1.25 goals against average andáa .961 save percentage ináhis last nine starts against them.
He is 3-0 so far this year against Toronto, including last Friday's 5-2 victory at the HSBC ...
