Orlando Magic’s J.J. Redick Calls Coach K, Nets 20 Points in Victory
Posted: 22nd December 2009 by Denton Ramsey in NBA
Maybe J.J. Redick should begin making it a tradition to call his former Duke coach before every game.
According to ESPN reports, Redick called Coach Mike Krzyzewski on Monday, Dec. 21, to tell him Happy Holidays but instead the former Blue Devil received advice from the greatest coach in the game.
And Redick soaked in every word, pouring in 20 points that evening en route to a big 104-99 Orlando Magic ...

Dallas Mavericks’ Mark Cuban: NBA’s Premier Drama Queen
Posted: 21st December 2009 by Denton Ramsey in NBA
Sometimes I wonder how Mark Cuban became such a drama queen.
Then I remember how it all began: He became the arrogant owner of the NBAÆs Dallas Mavericks.
CubanÆs latest appeal to the NBA regarding his crybaby Mavericks' loss to the Houston Rockets is beyond absurd.
Upon waking up this morning, I received an e-mail from my best friend with the latest Cuban news from ESPN :
ô...Cuban originally said that he planned to ...
Tracy McGrady: Making Most of Minimal Minutes, Aiming To Prove Worth
Posted: 20th December 2009 by Denton Ramsey in NBA
All the T-Mac slamming and trade talk trash needs to stop.
Tracy McGrady is doing a damn good job at making the most of the minimal minutes he is receiving while also aiming to prove to the world that heÆs still a star.
ôItÆs everything; havenÆt played in so long, new guys, coming back from a difficult surgery,ö McGrady told Houston Chronicle writer Jonathan Feigen before FridayÆs game. ôItÆs mentally, physically, itÆs ...
Houston Rockets Roll Past Thunder with Clippers, Magic on Horizon
Posted: 20th December 2009 by Denton Ramsey in NBA
That theory that Houston canÆt handle the second game of back-to-backs?
Throw that crap out the window.
The Rockets took care of business on Saturday night at Toyota Center, holding on for a 95-90 victory behind Trevor ArizaÆs 31 points.
With both Carl Landry and Chase Budinger out with injuries, the short-handed Rockets did what they needed to down the stretch while winning their second straight game.
ôI just think people get talking about ...
Texans Back at .500: Too Little, Too Late in Houston?
Posted: 20th December 2009 by Denton Ramsey in NFL
All that Houston football fans want for Christmas is a Texan's postseason appearance.
Unfortunately, it appears as though HoustonÆs NFL fans may be waiting another year or longer for that precious gift.
Even with the Texans picking up a 16-13 victory over the depleted Rams this afternoon, the playoffs are still a long shot as Houston enters Christmas weekend with a 7-7 record.
LetÆs pretend for a second that the Texans never choke ...
Hockey and Fighting: Perfect Combination, Especially When the Little Man Wins

Peanut butter and jelly.
Vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup.
Coach K and the Duke Blue Devils.
Certain things are just meant to go together, and the same rings true with the combination of hockey and fighting.
IÆll never forget the very first hockey game my little brother attended with me: it was an AHL game (around 2002) featuring the hometown Houston Aeros.
The main event wasnÆt the score that night; the feature presentation was ...
Astrodome, Baseball, Busch Commercials: Cherished Childhood Memories
Posted: 20th December 2009 by Denton Ramsey in MLB
Boy do I miss my childhood days of being paraded into the good ole Astrodome to watch the Houston Astros.
Walking up those long, wide ramps and your feet sticking to the ground with every step; the smell of beer, popcorn, and hotdogs; the long lines to the bathroom to stand over a urinal that looked more like something youÆd see in a jail over a baseball stadium.
But wow, those are ...
It’s Official: Quarterback Greg Paulus Aims for Career in NFL
Posted: 20th December 2009 by Denton Ramsey in NFL
We all knew Greg Paulus was going to Syracuse to play football for a reason.
And although the Orange went just 4-8 with Paulus as the play-caller, he still racked up quite an impressive number of yards and touchdown passes this past season.
Now, heÆs aiming for even loftier goals: a career in the NFL.
Known primarily for his sparkling plays on the Cameron Indoor hardwood, the former Dukie is now hoping to ...
