Stuck on Cloud No. 9: Utah Jazz Forced To Take a Shot in the Dark at NBA Draft
Posted: 20th May 2010 by Christopher Kamrani in NBA
So after all these years, this is it?
After all these years of holding out hope that a monumental bonehead move by Isiah Thomas would prove to be another franchise savior, this is it.
No. 9.
Not even a team with a rotting Tracy McGrady and a bunch of "who's that?" question marks could help out the Utah Jazz.
This shouldn't come at much of a surprise, though.

Missing The Memo: Utah’s Okur Ruptures Achilles in Game One
Posted: 18th April 2010 by Christopher Kamrani in NBA
Well, boom goes the dynamite.
That's the sound of the Utah Jazz playoff window crumbling to the ground below after sustaining another devastating injury.
Starting center Memo Okur ruptured his left Achilles tendon Saturday night in Denver in Game One of the first-round matchup with the Nuggets.
Okur, already bothered by a lingering Achilles issue on the same foot, received an injection 90 minutes prior to the series tip off.
The rupture occurred ...
Hollywood Ending? Los Angeles Lakers Are Mirror Image Of L.A. Arrogance
Posted: 8th March 2010 by Christopher Kamrani in NBA
The Los Angeles Lakers have now lost three games in a row for the first time in three seasons; the first time since they acquired Pau Gasol.
It was in late January of 2008 that the Lakers last dropped three straight. At San Antonio. At Dallas. Home against Cleveland.
That was also the year L.A. was gift-wrapped an All-Star for Kwame Brown and that dude that went all Doc Holliday with Gilbert ...
Back To the Future: The Utah Jazz Need a Newfangled Approach

Everything good needs replacing.
Some raspy-voiced, crooning dude holding a guitar said that once.
Forgot his name.
I doubt Jazz general manager Kevin OÆConnorÆs heard the song, but it just so happens that unlimited lyric paints a pathway directly to the front door of OÆConnor.
How can you gage this Utah franchise? Generally strong as the iron-rod, it took a catastrophic hit last season with the loss of owner Larry H. Miller.
Tattooed in fervent ...
No One Like Mike: Jordan’s Eminence Second to None
Posted: 18th September 2009 by Christopher Kamrani in NBA
Michael Jordan ruined my childhood.
Saying I will forever have nightmares clouding my thoughts on account of Jordan is selling myself pretty short.
I couldn't look at a picture of the guy without welling up and wanting to lose my lunch.
The memories of watching the elegant rise, fling, and fall of the basketball, the clock reading 5.2 seconds, and the prototypical pose cemented it all.
Forever and ever.
That's what true mastery is.
Being so ...
Not Merely an Arms Race: Tim Lincecum Is More Than a Cy Young Winner
Posted: 15th September 2009 by Christopher Kamrani in MLB
Sorry, Phat Albert.
My sincere apologies, Prince.
It has to be said. It just has to. So, here it goes. You ready? This'll feel a whole lot better once I get this off my chest.
Tim Lincecum could (or should) be the 2009 National League MVP.
OK, alright, fire away. Shoot. Let's have it. Let's hear it.
Yeah, I hear you. I do. I know Pujols is an irreparable machine of terror. I realize that ...
Judgment Daze: San Francisco Giants Must Drum Up Wins or Face the Music

Aug. 24 is now a distant memory, although it didn't seem like it was all too long ago that Ryan Spilborghs upgraded his wheels to blaze around the basepaths.
Forget the Edgar Renteria salami against the Rockies that was a cordial slap-in-the-face back at Colorado. Tit for tat.
That's all erroneous at this point. Just another highlight immovable in the mud that is the 162-game season.
That's the beauty and the beast of ...
