There is a ton of coverage from today's media outing with the Blazers players. I am both proud and jealous of the guys who get to cover the team for a living. For now, I will just continue to crunch numbers and bite the bullet. Here's some linkage from all over the place.
Mike Barrett reflects on previous media days and what today means to this organization.

Petteri Koponen Watch: Enter Scoonie Penn Edition
Posted: 27th September 2009 by Busta Bucket in NBA
When Andre Collins, the lone soul standing between Petteri Koponen and the starting point guard position for Virtus Bologna, went down with a hand injury, spontaneous celebration broke out in the streets of Espoo. Finally, Koponen would get to hold the reigns. No more playing out of position. No more hindrances to his development.
This was the opportunity Koponen and his dedicated followers (known as Finnaglerphiles) had been hoping for all ...
According to TrailBlazers.com, the Blazers are bringing back Ime Udoka. Ime was a member of the team during the 06/07 season and was a popular member of that Blazer squad. He didn't play particularly well with San Antonio, but a return to Portland will do him good I'm sure.
Do you want to know the real reason why I think Pritchard brought him back in? Toughness. Udoka is secretly one of ...
Unfortunately for me, I have a day job that is completely unrelated to the Portland Trail Blazers. The first media day with staff and coaches went down yesterday, and I was unable to attend. My only option at this point is to live vicariously through all the guys who make their living covering the Blazers or at least make better choices than me. Here's what I've been able to gather:
First ...

Thanks for the early assist from Holdahl on Twitter. Here's the release that came a little later:
TRAIL BLAZERS ASSISTANT COACH MAURICE LUCAS TO RESUME COACHING DUTIES
PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Trail Blazers assistant coach Maurice Lucas, who underwent successful bladder cancer surgery in April, has resumed coaching duties and will be with the team when training camp begins on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Lucas, 57, has elected to adopt a schedule that will ...
The Blazers just sent out an update regarding Blazers fan fest. There is good news and bad news as far as I'm concerned.
The good news is that it's on a Sunday this year so I can actually make it on time. Last year I was pretty late and missed the festivities.
The bad news? Getting these "free tickets" is a lot harder than you'd think. Take my situation for example. I ...
Jarron Collins Headed to Portland Trail Blazers Camp
Posted: 22nd September 2009 by Busta Bucket in NBA
So says a tweet from Ross Siler of the Salt Lake Tribune:
After eight seasons with the Jazz, Jarron Collins is heading to training camp next week with Portland.
Collins was drafted 53rd overall and has earned himself eight years in the league so far. He seems like a positive fellow to have around and I wish him the best of luck in camp.

EuroBasket Tourney Recap, Spain Wins Championship
Posted: 20th September 2009 by Busta Bucket in NBA
Spain finished off the 2009 EuroBasket tourney with a strong 85-63 victory over Serbia to claim the tournament gold medal trophy.
Once again, Spain was led by the tremendous play of current Los Angeles Laker, Pau Gasol. Gasol was unstoppable today and throughout the tourney. But he couldn't have done it without the help of players like Juan Carlos Navarro, Marc Gasol, Ricky Rubio, and our very own Portland Trail Blazer ...
My comment on the entry announcing the Juwan Howard signing was no joke. That really was the best day of my life. Others have approved of the move as well, but they keep talking about Howard’s veteran leadership, world class work ethic, and all around professionalism.
That’s all well and good, but for me it’s just the icing on the cake. This was not simply a smart move, it was a ...
Blazers Regular Season Tickets to go on Sale Sept. 28th
Posted: 18th September 2009 by Busta Bucket in NBA
The Blazers announced today that all 41 regular season home games will go on sale starting September 28th. The more intriguing part of this release is the addition of variable pricing. Apparently, tickets will fluctuate in value based on the opponent, day of the week, approaching milestones, and availability. Very interesting, I wonder how much tickets for either Laker home game will end up being. Here's the release:
INDIVIDUAL GAME TICKETS TO GO ...
