Breaking News: Byron Scott Let Go, GM Jeff Bower Steps in
Posted: 12th November 2009 by Busta Bucket in NBA
Update: Ric Bucher and Marc Stein are now saying the Hornets will have GM Jeff Bower coach the team and Tim Floyd will be the top assistant. This should be fun to watch!
Marc Stein is reporting that New Orleans Hornets coach Byron Scott, who was the coach of the year in 2008, has been fired by the team. This seems odd considering his recent track record. It's also way ...
How much can you really take away from a game like this? I could talk about how good Greg Oden looked when Al Jefferson wasnÆt sneaking around him for buckets. But itÆs the Timberwolves. I could talk about how that two point guard lineup was pretty nifty again. But itÆs the Timberwolves. Portland is working toward becoming a very good team, but Minnesota is a mess. That pretty ...
Continuing my positional player rankings, here are my top 10 point guards. Again, feel free to comment and debate. Check out this link from our Bloguin brothers who did their top 10 point guards last week.

Harris sometimes gets forgotten because he's on a bad team that nobody cares about. He is really good, and if he got more exposure he would get the credit he deserves. He ...

The Trail Blazers begin their first long road trip of the season with a stint in Memphis to face the young Grizzlies. The last two home games have been refreshing for Blazer fans who were concerned about chemistry, intensity, and overall motivation.
With a tweaked lineup and a commitment to running, the Blazers find themselves playing a back-to-back against two bad teams. A couple wins would go a long way, setting ...

As a guest writer for Bust a Bucket, I thought I'd take my first opportunity to stir up some controversy and make my Top 10 lists for active players at each position. Well, some might not be so controversial, but everyone has their own opinions. These lists are based on the players as of right now, at this point in their career. Feel free to share your own opinions and ...

BOX SCORE
The Blazers enjoyed their first blowout win of the year against the Timberwolves in a lazy Sunday at the Rose Garden.
The new three-guard lineup (is there a name for this lineup yet?) got things going with a 33-point first quarter, led by Miller and Aldridge.
Roy laid low in this one, getting people involved with seven assists before calling it a night with only two points.
Oden had his offense ...

Drafting Jonny Flynn and acquiring Ramon Sessions really changes the Minnesota back court. Although Flynn has been inconsistent, he seems destined for stardom. In this game, however, Steve Blake and Andre Miller, who are both starters now, will work to their strong points and dominate Sessions and Flynn.

I still managed to almost miss the game when my fiancÚe informed me that watching Rihanna talk about getting beat up by Chris Brown was far more interesting than the Blazers playing ...
Team success is dependent on zillions of variables, only some of which are controllable. We human types know this but prefer to boil things down to a single factor. Its easier on the noodle.
Last season Portland's single factor for success was the team's "ability to stay healthy." That was all well and good, but this is a new season. Worrying about injuries is so 2008. We want something new to ...
