Lego Yankee Stadium Makes Me Wish I Was 12 Again
Posted: 12th March 2010 by Bronx Baseball Daily in MLB
Check out these photos. This is actually a year old, but a couple of blogs have been posting these pictures this week so I thought I’d do the same. The guy who built this is a lego artist Sean Kenney . It is really impressive, especially if you are a big kid like me.

Spring Training Stats Don’t Matter: Example A, Phil Hughes
Posted: 11th March 2010 by Bronx Baseball Daily in MLB
When it comes to spring training and statistics I am a non-believer. I am obsessed with watching the games, but it is more to get a feel for the players involved and it hardly ever matters to me who won, who lost, or if the players do really well or really poorly.
Sure, part of me cringes a little bit if someone has a horrible day, but in the end ...
The rumors have swirled during the winter, but according to two major league sources, former Padres GM Kevin Towers will officially join the Yankees as a special assistant to Brian Cashman . Rejoice:
Towers will start with the Yankees next week in Tampa after being introduced on Tuesday. He’ll scout amateurs and professionals. Also, he’ll be a sounding board to Cashman, a longtime friend. The Yankees will pay him $50,000, according to ...
Earlier today I wrote a post complaining about the lack of any actual news coming from the newspapers . In an era where newspapers are rapidly declining, it’s almost as if they are trying to destroy themselves.
But just because the newspapers suck, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t plenty of Yankee-related stories out there worth your time. Leave it to the bloggers to do the newspapers' jobs for them. Here's ...
Breaking News: Johnny Damon Won’t Play in Meaningless Game Vs. YankeesùOMG!
Posted: 10th March 2010 by Bronx Baseball Daily in MLB
So Johnny Damon won’t be playing in this afternoon’s game against the Yankees because of turf toe.
Really? Is this news?
I guess it is compared to some other stories that have been out there over the past two days. Unless you think A-Rod’s lawyers meeting with feds is a news story, but I don’t.
Of course, there is the Nick Johnson hit two home runs in one game OMG he’s the next ...
Francisco Cervelli Cleared and Expects To Play Friday
Posted: 10th March 2010 by Bronx Baseball Daily in MLB
As you probably know by now, Francisco Cervelli sustained a concussion last week when he was hit in the head with a pitch.
It was his second concussion since the Yankees wrapped up the World Series (he also hit his head in winter ball). Cervelli has received good news from all tests involved this time around and was cleared to start light workouts and should be back in the lineup ...
New York Yankees VP Mark Newman Nailed with a DUI
Posted: 10th March 2010 by Bronx Baseball Daily in MLB
According to all papers, Yankees senior vice president Mark Newman was charged with a DUI Monday night in Tampa.
Here is a statement released by the Yankees:
“The New York Yankees do not condone this kind of behavior,” the statement said. “We take this situation seriously and we are looking into the matter. We will have no further comment at this time.”
This is funny, not in a ha ha way, but in ...
Let’s take a look at the potential for run scoring in this year’s version of the Yankees lineup. We’ve done this in the past, even a couple of times this offseason, but now that spring has started and we have a better idea of what their lineup will look like let’s do it again.
For this lineup projection I’ve used CHONE projections as well as Baseball Musings’ lineup analysis tool .

Jermaine Dye Might Interest Yankees if Nick Johnson Is Hurt
Posted: 8th March 2010 by Bronx Baseball Daily in MLB
Nick Johnson returned to the Yankees lineup today as the DH and went 0-for-2 with a walk and told reporters after the game that “Things feel fine. No grabbing. No nothing. I loosened up before. Felt nothing.”
That’s good news for the Yankees, who no doubt cringed when they heard that he tweaked his back last week.
It might not have been a big deal, but it was a painful reminder that ...
