Most Rangers fans are feeling the blues these days, with the team’s chances at making the playoffs on life support.
A loss against the Islanders on Wednesday night would all but officially end the Blueshirts’ chances at appearing in the postseason.
Yet there is something to smile about for at least some segments of Rangerland. Some of the Rangers' rivals around the NHL picked up wins Tuesday night, moving them ...

Heard this last night, checked around a little, didn’t find any evidence that it’s true: Glen Sather will retire after this season.
The source claims to have knowledge of this, from a ...
Derek Stepan: Hockey’s Future Ranks Rangers’ 44th Best Prospect in NHL

The other day we heard about Rangers prospect Chris Kreider, who The Hockey News ranked as the top Rangers draft pick of the year, although Jess from The Prospect Park disagreed.
Today we’re going to hear about Derek Stepan, a centerman who Hockey’s Future recently ranked as the No. 44 best prospect in the NHL.
Here is what they had to say about him:
Stepan was an unknown when the Rangers drafted ...
One of the better things Glen Sather has done recently was moving Scott Gomez’s big salary, a problem he himself created, but he made up for that nice move with the boneheaded signing of Ales Kotalik. Then he managed to make up for that mistake by dealing Kotalik and Chris Higgins to Calgary for Olli Jokinen.
Despite Jokinen’s past success, the deal wasn’t meant, at least it wasn’t perceived by many, ...
Speaking with reporters yesterday, Rangers captain Chris Drury and veteran forward Vinny Prospal were talking optimistically about this season, but in reality the Rangers are all but eliminated.
“We’re in no position to be moping around or still (ticked) off about something that happened yesterday; we just have to do everything we can to get ready for the Islanders,” said Chris Drury. “That’s it, end of story.”
“It’s a ...

Ryan Callahan left yesterday’s game late in the second period of the Rangers 2-1 loss to the Boston Bruins as a result of colliding with a veritable truck: Zdeno Chara. He didn’t play at all in the third period and was expected to miss today’s practice.
“I don’t think it’s anything too serious,” Callahan said , “[Returning to the game] just wasn’t happening. If there was a chance I’d be in ...
What the Hell is This About the New York Rangers in 3-D?
Posted: 20th March 2010 by Broadway Hockey Daily in NHL
It was announced this week that next week’s Rangers-Islanders game on March 24 will be broadcast in 3-D.
My first thought was that they would just be showing us an episode from Home Improvement circa 1994 and hope that the Rangers are so bad that we wouldn’t mind. It turned out to be something else though.
Apparently there are new HD televisions that broadcast a special kind of 3-D technology different from ...
