Right now, itÆs looking like Chuck Fletcher might deserve to be locked away for robbery.
á
Why, you ask?
á
Because, at this point, thatÆs what his additions of Chuck Kobasew, Guillaume Latendresse, and Andrew Ebbett look like.
á
Okay, so maybe IÆm going a touch strong on the hyperbole, but you canÆt deny that the WildÆs newcomers have given the team quite the boost in the last ...
Of all of the teams that you could possibly do an all-time roster for, the Minnesota Wild are likely among the easiest. Since their initial season in the NHL, the Wild have always been a competitive team but have rarely had their share of standout players.
To be honest, many of the players on this list wouldn't even crack the top of other teams' lists, but all have played a ...
Hockey Players Behaving Badly: Should We Expect More?

Children copy what they see their heroes doing. It’s human nature.
I remember, when I was no more than four or five, I used to tape an "S" to my chest, tie a blanket around my neck and run around in my underwear pretending to be Superman.
When I got a few years older, I morphed from Superman into Dan Marino, and then from Dan Marino into Michael Jordan, and Michael Jordan ...
In Chuck We Trust: Wild Swap Benoit Pouliot For Montreal’s Guillaume Latendresse

Regardless of what Wild fans think of the moves that Chuck Fletcher has made so far, you can’t deny one thing. He’s an exciting GM.
Yesterday night, Fletcher moved the team’s first draft pick in the 2005 Entry Draft, Benoit Pouliot—a player that the previous regime, under Doug Risebrough, considered to be untradeable at the end of last season.
And you know what? He actually got something of value for him.
The trade ...
The Minnesota Wild Stumble Out of the Gates, Fall To Phoenix 3-2
Posted: 19th November 2009 by Blake Benzel in NHL
Coming off of a four point road trip that many considered a disappointment, the Wild desperately needed to right the ship on Wednesday night against the Phoenix Coyotes.
á
To be fair, I really consider this loss to be my fault.á The instant I got in to work, yesterday, I began talking to my co-workers about the Wild and the Coyotesùtelling them that it was in the bag.á A sure win.
á
I mentioned ...
Many who know me know that there are three hockey blogs that I visit religiously throughout my day. There is my colleague Justin BourneÆsáBourneÆs Blog , Mike RussoÆs Wild Blog, RussoÆs Rants , and the Yahoo.com hockey blog, Puck Daddy .
á
There is a segment on Puck Daddy that runs from time to time called ôPass or Fail.öá Usually my responses on this are contained to the comments portion, however, this ...
After a putrid start to the 2009-10 NHL season, the Minnesota Wild are starting to show signs of life.á
Everyone expected some growing pains to start the season; however, when the team started 3-9-0, it raised some eyebrows.á
How bad was the teamÆs start?á
It ranked as the teamÆs worst start in franchise historyùworse than their inaugural campaign when the team started 2-7-3.á
The Wild have long been known as a streaky team, however, ...

Tonight is the second of six meetings between the Minnesota Wild and Vancouver Canucks as both teams come into the game riding winning streaks.

The Wild have won back-to-back one-goal games over the New York Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins, giving them their first winning streak of the season.á Meanwhile, the Canucks are winners of three of their last four and have won two straight.

In the first meeting between these bitter ...
What’s Going On in Phoenix: The Root of the Coyotes’ Attendance Struggles
Posted: 4th November 2009 by Blake Benzel in NHL
Ok.á I get it.á The Phoenix Coyotes probably couldnÆt draw a crowd if they offered a Ned Braden-esque strip show at the conclusion of every game.
á
ItÆs shoved in our face in absolutely every single article or every single mention of the team.
á
Every. Single. One.
á
Never mind that the team is 9-5-0 and playing some pretty darn good hockey.
á
LetÆs forget about the fact that they have one of the top goalies in ...
The first month of the season is over and, honestly, the Minnesota Wild are probably relieved.á
After starting the season 1-6-0, the team finished the month by winning four of their last seven games, as well as breaking their eight-game road losing streak against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins.á
Had you asked me, after the teamÆs initial five-game road trip, what I would think of the team finishing the month ...
