Seattle Mariners Discussing Trade for Toronto First Baseman Lyle Overbay

The Seattle Mariners have discussed a possible trade for Toronto first baseman Lyle Overbay, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
Overbay hit .265 with 16 HR, 64 RBI, 112 H, .372 OBP, 74 BB, .466 SLG in 432 AB.
His 74 walks would have been a Mariner team high.
His on-base/slugging percentage and 35 doubles would have been good for the team's second best mark.
His 64 RBI would have been good for fourth ...

According to Fox Sports, the Seattle Mariners are going to "kick the tires" on the availability of All-Star left fielder Jason Bay.
With the bloated contracts of C Kenji Johjima, SP Erik Bedard, SP Jarrod Washburn, RP Miguel Bautista, and 3B Adrian Beltre coming off the books, it frees up roughly $45 million in cap space for them to use.

With the long overdue news that Seahawks tackle Walter Jones is headed to IR, that leaves a roster spot up for grabs.
