(Note to the editors: Do not change the title.  The two r's and the * are there for a reason.  Thank you.)   The Basketball Hall of Fame is welcoming a truly transcendent class this season. You have one of the most versatile centers of all time, one of the game's most creative point guards, a rugged forward who became an even more rugged coach, a woman who helped guide women's college basketball out of its 300-fan-per-game obscurity and into a game that, at some schools, rivals the men's game in popularity...and then there's that guy that used to do commercials with Mars Blackmon. A few observations about the ceremony and the Hall of Fame itself:
