This is not really a big surprise, but by having arthroscopic surgery on his bum left ankle, Minnesota Vikings' quarterback Brett Favre is as good as coming back for a 20th NFL season.
Dr. James Andrews operated on Favre at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, FL. The surgery cleaned up scar tissue and other elements of the joint to allow for a better range of motion—to play football. Although the injury was apparently causing pain in everyday activities, Brett didn't need the surgery to ride his lawn mower or play golf. He needed it to play for the Vikings in 2010. A few weeks ago he said he would require the surgery if he were going to play this season. And barring any unforeseen setback, that's exactly what he'll do.
