It looks like Daunte Culpepper will be a Lion again after all, just not a Detroit Lion. Reports are swirling that the 33-year-old quarterback is close to signing a deal with the UFL's Sacramento Mountain Lions.
Detroit brought Culpepper out of semi-retirement two years ago, in the middle of the 2008 season. He started a total of 10 games during his time with the Lions.
Culpepper was the early favorite to be the starter last year, but the plan changed quickly when Detroit drafted quarterback Matthew Stafford with the first overall selection in 2009. Stafford solidified himself as the starter during training camp, with Culpepper as his backup the entire season last year.
