Last year was forgettable for these catchers, but look for them to return to form in 2010. Ryan Doumit, Pittsburgh Pirates
Doumit was limited to 75 games last year, and hit just .250. That's a far cry from the .318 he hit in 2008. I don't think he's that good or as bad as last year. A .280 average seems more his number. Doumit has played some 1B and RF in his brief career, so don't be surprised if he plays more games than your average catcher. Russell Martin, Los Angeles Dodgers
Martin hit just .250 last year. His numbers were down across the board. However, he's just 27 and averaged .286, 87 runs, 16 HRs, 78 RBIs, and 20 SBs in 2007 and 2008. His season debut could be delayed because of a groin injury, but he beefed up during the winter. Don't write him off just yet. ...
