I donÆt think there is anyone who will argue against the assertion that Tampa Bay RaysÆBJ Upton is one of the most athletic and talented players in the major leagues. His ability to track down a ball in center field is second to none. Upton is so good in center, many people forget he was actually a shortstop when he came up to the majors in 2004.
While Upton continues to amaze fans with his glove, itÆs his offense that has fallen under question the last couple of years.
Upton was brought up as a 20-year-old in 2004 and hit .258 with four home runs and a .733 OPS in 45 games for the then Devil Rays. It took Upton a couple of years to get acclimated to major league pitching, but had his breakout year in 2007.
