We've all argued about NFL OT with someone by now.á Some people like it, some people hate it and most of us tolerate it.á Well, those that hate it need to get used to the idea that it's not changing.á Ever.á Here's why.
The NFL is not just a sporting event on TV.á It is a TV Product, the same thing as The Oscars or The Movie of the Week.á It is a packaged product, set to run from 1pm to 4:15pm.á The OT rules basically guarantee completion in that time frame.á
It is extremely rare to get a lengthy OT period due to the sudden death.á This is on purpose.á So they're never changing to the awful college system or playing a full period.á At least not in the regular season.á Which leads us to...
