Trust me when I tell you that I am one of the biggest Houston Astros fans you’ll find on the entire planet.
Most of the time, you’ll find me in my full home gray Astros uniform in front of the TV from the first pitch until the final out.
But let me tell you something—this season’s Astros demise is not Cecil Cooper's fault.
Baseball is, no doubt, a team sport; you win as a team, you lose as a team.
But you don’t “lose your job” as a team; ultimately, that responsibility lands in the hands of the manager.
In all actuality, the 2009 Astros had (and continue to field) a very explosive offensive bunch mixed with a merely mediocre pitching staff.
We can’t send Roy Oswalt and Wandy Rodriguez out there every other night to pick up Ws.
