Mike Martz could be the new offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears.á
Andy Maisonneuve, Bears beat reporter for the ôBearly Legal Showö on 670TheScore.com, has confirmed with an inside source in the Bears organization that Martz is likely to get the job.
Martz has not signed the dotted line yet; however, it's very close.
The Bears' general manager Ted Philips has denied the claim; however, timing is a critical matter in any new hire, and it's possible the organization is not ready to announce it.
Martz was with the Rams' as head coach when Smith was the defensive coordinator from 2001-2003. Martz's reputation for turning around ailing offenses makes him an ideal candidate to help Jay Cutler reduce his league-leading interception total in the 2010 season.
