PHILADELPHIA—The Flyers announced that goalie Ray Emery will undergo surgery tomorrow to repair an abdominal injury, and has been placed on injured reserve.
Emery, 27, has been short with the media in the last couple of weeks during the Flyers free fall in the Eastern Conference standings, and his plays have had many fans speculating whether Razor has been playing through injury.
In 21 appearances in between the pipes in his first season with the Orange ‘n Black, Emery has posted a 11-8-1 record with a 2.83 goals against average and .901 save percentage; however in his last five games, he has allowed 21 pucks to get past him.
