Game Two of the rookie tournament is in the books for the Toronto Maple Leafs and while the result on the scoreboard wasn’t what Brian Burke and company were looking for, their was still plenty to be excited about after yesterdays 6-5 overtime loss at the hands of the Boston Bruins rookies.
Start with Christian Hanson, who as you know was one guy I wanted to see strut his stuff in this tournament. Hanson scored three goals yesterday while playing on a line with top offensive talent Nazem Kadri and Viktor Stalberg (more on both of those later).
Hanson went to the tough areas of the ice, paid the price for every inch of space, and all three goals were the product of hard work and the ability to take the physical toll to score goals.
