Why Cliff Lee Has No Shot at Coming to The Bronx This Season
Posted: 3rd July 2010 by Jason Kim in MLB
Many Yankees fans have been hoping that Cliff Lee would end up in New York this season via trade with the Seattle Mariners.
But it will never happen.
The Yankees seem content with the current starting rotation: Javier Vasquez has turned around and A.J. Burnett seems to be coming back to his usual form as well after a miserable June.
Believe it or not, the Yankees have a budget. Which was one of the ...
Minnesota Wild Summer Round-Up: 2010 Entry Draft and Free Agency
Posted: 3rd July 2010 by Nick Maxson in NHL
If anyone were to speak to Chuck Fletcher last year, you probably would have thought this man was looking at an impossible task at rebuilding a franchise that was on the down turn.
The Wild couldn't keep quality players in their lineup with failed trade talks and did not attract outside players through free agency or trading.
All that has changed.
After speaking to Wild GM Chuck Fletcher on Thursday night after signing ...
Thanks to the work of Pittsburgh Penguins' General Manager Ray Shero on the opening day of Free Agency on Thursday, a similar scene to this article's photo could be occurring in June of one of the next few seasons. Next year's edition of the Penguins will have quite a different look, but as far as this writer is concerned, a much better look.
Going into Thursday, Ray Shero's plan by all ...
Los Angeles Angels Won’t Catch Texas Unless Their Bullpen Improves
Posted: 3rd July 2010 by Eric Denton in MLB
Angel fans have been spoiled. From 1996 to 2008 it was just about automatic, the game was over in the 9th inning. Between Troy Percival and Francisco Rodriguez , Angel fans saw the two relievers combine for an amazing 524 saves. Rodriguez lead the league in saves three times including a Major league record 62 in his final season with the club in ...
NBA Free Agency: Steve Blake Or Jordan Farmar? Who Fits the Lakers Best?
Posted: 3rd July 2010 by Hadarii Jones in NBA
The Los Angeles Lakers reportedly offered Los Angeles Clippers' point guard Steve Blake a four year, $16 million contract, and with that move Jordan Farmar's days as a Laker appear to be over.
Blake is a steady guard who is not quite the athlete that Farmar is, and his signing makes you wonder if the Lakers shouldn't have pushed a little harder to keep Farmar in the fold.
Farmar allegedly was looking for a ...
Why Roger Goodell Will Cut Ben Roethlisbergers Suspension Short.

When Roger Goodell decided to suspend Ben Roethlisberger for violating the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy, the suspension was set for six games.
Goodell then added that Ben Roethlisberger would have to undergo counseling, and if there were no problems found, then he would be able to return to the Steelers for the rest of training camp.
Goodell then added that if Roethlisberger were to stay out of trouble prior to the ...

Posted: 3rd July 2010 by bill hinton in NFL
According to Alex Marvez of Sirius NFL Radio, Jason Campbell has been working out with Brett Favre to get ready for the 2010 season.
Viking fans should be happy as to what little doubt about Favre's intention to return has apparently been erased.
As for Raider fans, well let's just say it's much nicer to hear your quarterback is working out with a future Hall of Famer as opposed to what we've heard ...
NFL Labor Talks: No Visible Progress, No Good Ending in Sight
Posted: 3rd July 2010 by Brian DiTullio in NFL
As the summer moves forward, the gulf between the owners and the players doesn't seem to be getting any narrower in the NFL.
The owners opted out of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, and now the two sides have to sit down and hash out a new one. The problem is, this time it's the owners who are on the hot seat.
The usual way owner/employee spats play out, the owner is ...
Is the Denver Broncos Secondary Really Getting Too Old?
Posted: 3rd July 2010 by Benjamin Richardson in NFL
Let's put it straight out there: a lot of fans of other teams seem to think the third-best secondary last year, with two Pro Bowl players both in their 30s, seems to be a little old.
Is it true? That this badass secondary from just one year ago has already been forgotten?
Let's start with Champ Bailey. The man is simply amazing. He is also the greatest defensive player on ...
