Jake Delhomme: The Right Fit at the Right Time for the Cleveland Browns
Posted: 6th July 2010 by Tom Delamater in NFL
Jake Delhomme joined the Cleveland Browns in March as the presumed starter going into the 2010 NFL season.
The Browns have been down this path before, signing such veterans as Trent Dilfer and Jeff Garcia during the forgettable 11 years since their return to the league in 1999.
The knock on Delhomme is that his elbow injury in 2007 signaled the end of the road for him as an effective starter, ...
LeBron James Saga: Everyone’s Still Playing for Second, So Enough Already!
Posted: 6th July 2010 by Pat Mixon in NBA
Can we please stop with the minute by minute LeBron James & Company free agency talk? Enough Already!
Let me break it to everyone in the simplest of terms: It doesn’t matter where LeBron lands nor who comes with him. Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers are still the best team in the NBA, and they're the one to beat next season.
To paraphrase one of the best sports quotes ever ...

So, it's five days into free agency and we still don't know where LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh will be playing next season.
Just because the Big Three haven't decided, however, doesn't mean we haven't had our fair share of action in the first few days.
From a Darko Milicic sighting to two $100 million contracts, NBA owners have been emptying their pockets left and right so far. (So much ...

JaMarcus Russell Arrested With Codeine, Ruins Any Chance At NFL Comeback
Posted: 6th July 2010 by Robert Quinn in NFL
JaMarcus Russell, recently released by the Oakland Raiders after being selected No. 1 overall out of Louisiana State, has just made a bad offseason even worse after being arrested for possession of a controlled substance. That substance is supposedly liquid codeine, or "Purple Drank," which is a mixture of the codeine, promethazyne, Sprite, and Jolly Ranchers.
Green Bay Packers DT Johnny Jolly is also facing charges on the same offense. ESPN's ...
MLB Trade Deadline: The 10 Biggest Pennant-Changing Deals of the 2000s
Posted: 6th July 2010 by Adam Rosen in MLB
The trade deadline can be a defining moment during the season.
The trade deadline allows teams that buy to transform themselves from a contender into World Series champions, while the teams that sell start to look towards the future.
Not every deal that has been made in recent memory has worked out (see July 31, 2004: Mets trade Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano), but there are plenty of other ...
It is expected to be a very busy week in the NHL, here is the latest on what may happen.
Things are expected to pick up on the Tomas Kaberle front today. Rumored teams interested are the Sabres, Ducks, Kings, and Devils (if they clear some cap or don't sign Kovalchuk).
Nikolai Zherdev is indeed returning to the NHL. Rumor has it the Sabres and Bruins are very ...
NL All-Star manager Charlie Manuel said he was told to include a utility player on the NL roster, so he has chosen Omar Infante of the Braves.
Infante is a very versatile player who can play all the infield and outfield positions, but he has one home run and 22 runs batted in this season. He is a good player, but he is not an All-Star player.
His teammate Troy Glaus, who ...

Posted: 6th July 2010 by Scott Weldon in NHL
Prior to the 2010 NHL entry draft Calgary Flames General Manager declared to the Calgary Herald that the Flames were one player away from being a top team.
For anyone who watched the Flames play last year, this was a rather shocking announcement. The Flames scored the fewest goals in the league last year.
Imagine any team you saw last year, any team that you believed was offensively challenged or just incapable of creating or ...
