The New England Patriots, as expected, released Adalius Thomas yesterday. The veteran linebacker hasn’t meshed with the Pats at all and it was widely speculated that he would be a free agent at some point this offseason.
The only question at this point is: are the Jets interested? Sources within the ...
Keep ’em or Toss ’em: 10 of Baseball’s Unwritten Rules

In honor of Alex Rodriguez and his breaking of an unwritten rule while playing against the Oakland A's.
The following is a list of baseball's unwritten rules and the decision of whether they're worth keeping or whether they really aren't that big of a deal.
As for the one that ARod broke, I think we can all agree he knew exactly what he was doing and playing stupid afterwards was even more ...

I know that the Rookie of the Year doesn't go into the playoffs, but if it did, Brandon Jennings would be the top candidate for the award.
Brandon Jennings was clutch in the fourth quarter, and helped hold off the late rally from the Hawks. The Bucks played some great basketball in game four and have knotted up the series.
They managed to slow down the Hawks offense enough to give themselves ...

Posted: 27th April 2010 by Scott Eisenlohr in MLB
Hours before the Philadelphia Phillies failed to make the necessary plays in a 5-1 loss to the San Francisco Giants, they made one huge play off the field.
The Phillies announced they had locked up slugger Ryan Howard to a five-year, $125 million contract extension that could keep the All-Star first baseman in Philadelphia through 2017.
The contract runs through 2016, with a club option for 2017 that could raise the value ...
With a 7-6 win this past Sunday over the Boston Red Sox, the 2010 Baltimore Orioles vaulted their record to 3-16, for a sizzling .158 winning percentage. If the current Orioles kept up this record pace, this losing percentage would be the second worst of all time.
Howver, there is no way they continue this pace, not with good, young hitters Matt Wieters, Adam Jones, Nolan Reimold and Nick Markakis ...

Cleveland Browns Need a Veteran Wide Receiver, Who Would Be the Odd Man Out?
Posted: 27th April 2010 by Daniel Wolf in NFL
There is no secret in the Cleveland Browns organization as to what one of their biggest needs is on the roster: To get a veteran wide receiver to help unlock the potential of their very young and inexperienced receiver group.
As time progresses and the roster gets cut down during training camp and preseason, the Browns will most likely carry five receivers on the 53-man roster and possibly another one on ...
With Week One of the playoffs officially in the books, we've had the opportunity to start separating the contenders from the pretenders.
In the East, all four of the higher-seeded teams have managed to proceed along without any major hiccups (excluding the Cavs' Game Three against Chicago), and they all hold two-game advantages over their opponents.
The West, on the other hand, is the war zone we expected it to be—after all, ...

In the 13th game of a stretch where the Nationals play on 15 consecutive days, the last thing Washington needed was a an extra-inning game. Despite a quality start from John Lannan, and timely hitting from the Nats batters, the club couldn't hold on and lost 4-3 in the bottom of the 10th at Wrigley.
In the end it all came down to a worn-out bullpen. Brian Bruney looked absolutely gassed in ...
