Andy Reid: Philadelphia Eagles Entertaining Offers for All Three Quaterbacks
Posted: 24th March 2010 by Bob Cunningham in NFL
Andy Reid was uncharacteristically candid when he sat down to speak with the media at the NFL's annual owner's meeting in Orlando, saying that the team is in fact listening to offers for all three quarterbacks."I'm listening (to offers) out there," Reid told the media during the NFC's media day. "I'm not saying I'm doing anything. But we're keeping our ears open."Reid was also asked how interested he was in ...
New NFL Overtime Rules: What They Are, How the Game Doesn’t Change
Posted: 24th March 2010 by Jon Star in NFL
The NFL, led by its 32 owners, voted to implement a new overtime rule starting in 2010. The rule sound a bit convoluted at first, but in reality the new rule is simple to understand.
The new rule states that if the receiving team successfully kicks a field goal, the other team will have a possession. If the second team to touch the ball kicks a matching field ...

Playing at a Division I-AA school makes it hard enough for a player to get noticed by NFL scouts. Being snubbed by the NFL Combine makes it even harder.
However, position versatility, solid production, and elite measurables are all very helpful in catching the eye of NFL scouts and general managers.
University of New Hampshire linebacker Sean Ware has all of these.
Ware redshirted his freshman year for the Wildcats in 2005 and ...
Tackling Trouble: Miguel Cabrera, Magglio Ordonez Defeating ’09 Concerns
Posted: 24th March 2010 by Joshua Worn in MLB
For five months, Miguel Cabrera led the Tigers' charge for first place in the Central division.
MVP, MVP, MVP!
With a beastly average of .330 to support 33 home runs and 101 RBI, Cabrera embodied all that was good in Detroit.
He, the young-blooded Venezuelan, along with Justin Verlander and the upcoming phenom Rick Porcello, was among the successful faces of the 2009 season.
Ah, pure rejoicing—the playoffs seemed inevitable.
Deep breath, cross fingers.
But then ...
The NFL’s New Overtime Policy Is a Step in the Right Direction
Posted: 24th March 2010 by Kyle Baker in NFL
Last night in a 28-4 vote, the NFL owners decided to make the first rule change in regards to overtime since "The Greatest Game Ever Played."
The rule change states that if the first team to possess the ball in overtime scores a touchdown, the game is over. However, if said team only kicks a field goal, the defending team will get the ball also.
That means that Garrett Hartley's kick against ...
That Clay Buchholz was battered by the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday will raise few red flags in the Boston Red Sox clubhouse, as the lanky right-hander suffered the thumping during an admittedly sleepy spring training tune-up. The Calendar still reads March, which is to say the numbers don’t matter yet. But the Red Sox need to hope the numbers are impressive when they do. Not just because ...
The Yankees were in an unfamiliar spot on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009. They had lost the first game of the World Series they night before, dropping a 6-1 decision in Game One. Yankee fans everywhere were frightened to see the Bronx Bombers down 0-1 to a team like the Philadelphia Phillies.
Even more frightening was the fact that the Yanks were sending the enigmatic A.J. Burnett to the mound, a mostly inconsistent ...

LA Lakers and Detroit Pistons: NBA Rivalries, Where Have They Gone?
Posted: 24th March 2010 by Justin Dargahi in NBA
I remember growing up as a little kid caring about one thing and one thing only, sports.
To me, nothing else mattered. Not sleeping, not school, not rolling around in dirt. Only sports.
The first sporting event that I remember watching was the 1988 NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Detroit Pistons, otherwise known as Showtime versus the Bad Boys.
Actually I do recall bits and pieces of Super Bowl XXI ...
