Is Rajon Rondo Truly the Best Young Point Guard in the NBA?
Posted: 25th March 2010 by Ryan McDonnell in NBA
Rajon Rondo led the Celtics' charge with a triple-double as Boston began their home stand Wednesday night by exacting revenge on a Denver Nuggets team who defeated them by nine in February.
In the second half of the game, legendary Celtics color man Tommy Heinsohn listed his Top Four Veteran Point Guards along with his Top Four Young Point Guards. Denver's Chauncey Billups appeared second on Tommy's veteran list while Rajon Rondo appeared first on the young guns list.

Part 1: If I Were the Vikings’ Rick Spielman (One Month Prior to the Draft)
Posted: 25th March 2010 by Michael Vichael in NFL
Rick Spielman does not officially hold the General Manager title for the Minnesota Vikings franchise. But as the VP of Player Personnel, Spielman runs the draft, making final calls on draft day according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert.
Many of us fans would love to be Rick right now!
Count me in as a firm believer in the general philosophy of taking the BPA (Best Player Available). But my interpretation goes a little deeper and perhaps ...
“Don’t trade Carey Price,” said Scott, after watching last night's game. A caller to a Montreal sports radio show disagreed. His name was Andrew, and he gave the usual lengthy and exaggerated preamble that was intended to convey credibility. Andrew had played hockey for years, even a little goal, and perhaps did one term as the Pope. (Sorry, I stopped paying close attention to his ...
Dustin Pedroia will Play Friday, X-Rays on Wrist Negative
Posted: 25th March 2010 by Jeffrey Brown in MLB
The play looked innocent enough when it happened. Last night, Minnesota leadoff hitter Denard Span ripped a one-hopper that seemed destined for right field until Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia made one of his patented diving stops—ranging to his left to snag the ball and then popping up to throw the ball to first base. The fact he threw wide of first for an error was irrelevent…it was a classic ...
‘Giants Past & Present’: A Must-Have Coffee Table Book for Giants Fans
Posted: 25th March 2010 by Kevin O'Brien in MLB
I received "Giants Past and Present" in the mail yesterday from MVP Books . In all honesty, I plowed through the book in one night. In many ways, it is not a very dense book. It runs 144 pages long and for the most part, it is very picture-heavy. That being said, don't let that deter you from taking a gander at freelance journalist and author Dan Fost's (love ...

This is what a surprise run to the AFC Championship game can get you.
Your very on television show!
In an offseason that has been full of Jets headliners since they fell to Indianapolis in that aforementioned title game, the latest now has the Jets staring in HBO's annual right for open-mic'd big mouths with bigger egos in "Hard Knocks," a training camp diary that follows a team from day ...
O’l Heart Of Mine Strikes Gold: Baseball, St. Patty’s Day In The Desert
Posted: 25th March 2010 by Billee Lorig in MLB
We wandered in here the week of the UW vs Arizona State game after walking two miles from 3rd and Mill to East Apache Blvd. and Rural in 100 degree weather, in search of liquor and food. Fortunately for us, this place specializes in both.
The Baers Den is a must stop if visiting just for Game Day or for Baseball's Fall and Spring training camps.
The thought is that I would do a follow-up to ...
Cleveland Cavaliers Should Take Note of Kevin Pritchard’s Troubles in Portland
Posted: 25th March 2010 by Amar Panchmatia in NBA
Building a team through the draft is a lost art in the NBA.
While the NFL treats its entire draft like an actual regular season game, the NBA's version is mostly done after the first 20 picks—well before every team has has a chance to make at least one selection.
Someone forgot to give that memo to Kevin Pritchard, the embattled General Manager of the Portland Trail Blazers.
Even before taking over as ...
Will Roberto Luongo of the Vancouver Canucks Make the Grade?
Posted: 25th March 2010 by Nucks IceMan in NHL
Since I have been writing about Roberto Luongo for over two years now and following him closely since he became a Canuck, I will stick to what I have seen and commented on many times previously: He is overrated.
This is not to say he is not a good goaltender, but that he is not the best goalie in the NHL, which the local media has purported him to be and is trying ...
Budding young stars seem to be a trend in not only baseball, but in numerous sports. There is something to be said for harvesting your own players and having them shine. It has been a long time coming in baseball, where again exciting youth have arrived to sell out ballparks.
One of the top organizations in the business the Los Angeles Dodgers, have been to the League Championships in consecutive years.
