Nick Markakis vs. Adam Jones: Who Is the Better Baseball Player?
Posted: 28th March 2010 by Zachary Ball in MLB
As usual, the idea for the this slideshow came from another night spent watching the clock countdown to closing time at work.
Instead of thinking about (and enjoying) how Jones and Markakis compliment each other, I thought I'd turn it into a competition, with the main goal being to determine who is the better overall baseball player.
Taking into account offensive production, as well as evaluating each Orioles' tools, including defensive prowess, ...
Donovan McNabb has endured things that no professional football player should ever have to, especially one that has been successfull on and off the field like he has been.
It is not enough that he was booed when he was drafted with the second overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft. I mean, who else did you want? Tim Couch (drafted first and retired), Akili Smith and Cade McNown (out of football ...
Money for Nothing: Glazers Claim To Have Cash, Not the Desire To Spend It
Posted: 28th March 2010 by JC De La Torre in NFL
Believe it if you want, Buccaneer fans. One of your owners, Joel Glazer, has told you straight up: They have the money to spend, they just don't want to spend it right now.
They believe in building by the NFL draft, building a foundation, and then adding to that base down the line.
"Money will never be an issue when it comes to building this team the way we think it should ...
Remember the days when the thickness of your glasses was a clear indicator as to how bad your eyes were? Thankfully, I didn’t have those glasses as a kid. I remember the coke bottle glasses kids as those who were woeful at sports--the type of kids who couldn’t walk and chew gum at the same time.
These kids didn't know much about sports, and they did not have ...
Should the 49ers Make an Offer To Raiders for Nnamdi Asomugha?
Posted: 28th March 2010 by David Xaviel is the Real Mr. X in NFL
This has an on-going rumor lately: whether the Oakland Raiders should trade cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.
Generally, I would prefer that the Raiders retain Asomugha. But like anything, if the right offer came along, I would listen.
One intriguing possibility has been for the Raiders to trade Asomugha to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for the Niners two picks in the 1st round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
I say that, because when ...
Josh Bailey scored 2:58 into overtime as the Isles did something that they had never done before: win a game in Columbus. The win allowed the Isles to sweep the season series from the Blue Jackets. Onto the Trick:
1. The Isles grabbed the early lead as Kyle Okposo and Sean Begenheim scored 62 seconds apart to give the Isles a 2-0 lead before the first television timeout. It was Okposo's 17th goal ...
When new team president Mike Holmgren arrived in Cleveland, he was cheered and heralded as the voice of experience in an under-qualified front office.
Just three months later however, after trading Cleveland's underachieving former first-round picks Brady Quinn and Kamerion Wimbley, the majority of Cleveland's fan base has been in an uproar.
This new front office has vowed not to dwell on the past mistakes of unqualified men.
Kamerion Wimbley had a solid rookie ...
You'll have to excuse Tony Sparano and the rest of the Miami Dolphins organization if they are breathing a sigh of relief today...and maybe even chuckling a bit.
Authorities in Bakersfield, Ca., are reporting that troubled linebacker Joey Porter of the Arizona Cardinals has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and is also being accused of assaulting an officer and resisting arrest.
While this comes at a very bad time ...
Raptors Report Week 21: Bucks Out of Reach, Heat as Well?
Posted: 28th March 2010 by Sachin Arora in NBA
Well, they are playing better. With urgency? No, but better.
Chris Bosh has been playing with less urgency, he's been a lot less aggressive, and he hasn't been clutch when the team needs it.
Jay Triano's philosophy of "letting the team play through it" has to stop.
The Raptors beat the Timberwolves for their lone win of this week by six points. That was too close for my liking, since the ...
He’s Going Where?: 2010’s NBA Free Agent Predictions
Posted: 28th March 2010 by bryan richardson in NBA
It's been more talked about than the after-Thanksgiving day sale at Wal-Mart or Health Care Reform. Fans of the respective players, from LeBron to D-Wade to CB4 have fretted while fans of the Knicks and Bulls have been patiently waiting for the franchises to be restored to the top of the pile. The wait is over. My predictions for the star-studded 2010 free-agent class.
(i.e Players like Paul Pierce, Dirk ...
