No. 1 or Not, Sam Bradford Headed for Matt Leinart-Like Career
Posted: 26th February 2010 by Josh Brewer in NFL
Leading a big-time college football program to multiple BCS bowls and racking up personal accolades along the way is great...in college. This type of success doesn't guarantee pro success, though—ask Jason White, Chris Weinke or Danny Wuerffel.Or Matt Leinart.Since coming into the league in 2006, Leinart has done next to nothing. He held out of training camp and was the last 2006 draftee to sign. Instead of growing as a ...
In every interview with Alex Rodriguez, there's always at least one moment where I shake my head in disbelief and think to myself, "My God, what a goober."
It's become a cherished part of my Yankee fan experience these past six years.
Here's how it goes: Reporter asks A-Rod question. A-Rod squints his eyes (this indicates that he's listening really hard) and contorts his lips (I'm not sure what this indicates). Then ...
Should Jose Reyes Bat Third? Why the Mets Would Be Crazy Not to Do It
Posted: 26th February 2010 by David Geller in MLB
It’s not officially spring training for the Mets until the manager puts himself under the microscope for a questionable decision.
This year’s controversy came rather quickly, and it revolves around the centerpiece of the Mets franchise: Jose Reyes.
The frustrated Mets fanbase has been so accustomed to their star shortstop batting leadoff that they are unwilling to consider him batting in any other spot in the lineup.
He is the prototypical leadoff ...
In 1927 the New York Yankees won the World Series.
Their lineup was called Murderers' Row, and featured the likes of Tony Lazzeri, Earle Combs, and Bob Meusel.
Of course, in 1927 Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs, setting a record that would last for 34 years.
Babe also hit 29 doubles, eight triples (believe it or not), and drove in 164 runs that year.
But this story is not about the '27 Yankees.
This ...
The Yankees are starting the 2010 season with only two locks in their outfield ,and a long list of outfielders—many of which will not make the Bronx roster, and instead will be in Scranton.
The locks are Nick Swisher in right and Curtis Granderson in center, or maybe left. After that it is anyone’s guess.
Brett Gardner seems like the favorite to be the third outfielder. Brian Cashman has said ...
In response to a realignment proposal for MLB reported by Ken Rosenthal, I could not help but toy with my own proposal. It may be a stretch, but I believe that it keeps the traditional and gritty League rivalries alive, along with expanding new horizons. The regular season schedule and playoff system may need to change for this to work, but that may be a different story. Enjoy.Begin Slideshow
2010 NFL Combine: QBs, WRs, RBs, Weigh In: Who Measured Up?
Posted: 26th February 2010 by Daniel Wolf in NFL
The weigh-in for quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers has finished at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
Measureables for these skill positions are very important because coaches and scouts want to know if a receiver is tall enough, or a quarterback has enough bulk on his frame to take a pounding when getting sacked by NFL lineman, or if a running back is solid rock and can take the punishment ...
Carl Crawford, Tampa Bay Rays Prepare For The Last Hurrah
Posted: 26th February 2010 by JC De La Torre in MLB
Enjoy it, Tampa Bay Rays fans.
Enjoy watching the greatness of No. 13 Carl Crawford, as he blazes the base paths, cracks the game winning homer, or makes that SportsCenter highlight catch.
Enjoy Crawford as he leads this Rays' team for one more shot at the World Series because at the end of this season, he'll be gone.
The Tampa Bay Rays suspended negotiations with Crawford's agent, Brian Peters, until the end of ...
2010 NFL Draft: New York Giants: Three Guys Who Lost Their Chances With Big Blue
Posted: 26th February 2010 by Michael Gliddon in NFL
The NFL Combine will be officially starting tomorrow with offensive linemen and tight ends. Since today is a snowy day here in the northeast, I thought it would be a good idea to look at some players the Giants could have drafted this year if other players didn't do so well in 2009.
Remember, this is not a mock draft of any kind. Just simply evaluating some players the Giants will ...

I’m going to have to take Chris Rock to lunch one day. It’ll be my way of saying ‘thank you!” for his profound statements that I like to refer to.
He once said, “Men are only as ...
